Weird how the link on the Santander site is dead.
Right - time for me to open their ISA now methinks, now I have sent notice to Post Office to inform them I don't want theirs and to cancel the transfer, which can now go to Santander.
Anyway - your link safely bookmarked - thanks.0 -
Have been in this morning to branch and transferred previous years Santander and Barclays ISAs. Pretty straightforward really. On the phone they told me I could pay in my 2012 - 2013 allowance between 6th and 14th April.
I specifically asked about this question as I won't have the full £5640 available then, but could throughout the year. They informed me that I could open the account whenever I wanted to (subject to availability) and wasn't obliged to pay the full allowance in but could dripfeed into the account throughout the year up to the max ISA limit.
This Apr 6th-14th time limitation is in order to qualify for the 0.1% additional bonus for McIlroy winning a major. The 4% fixed would remain which would make me consider this as a potential 12/13 ISA account.
Would be interested to know if any of you have received this same answer.... she *appeared* knowledgeable about the product.MFW2020 #5 £2,000/2,000 MFW2021 #5 £1,850/3,500MFW2022 #5 £3.001/3,000Sep'12 £233,750 Jan'15 £222,329 Dec’21 £139,584 MFiT T4 #24 £48k/£34k MFiT T5 #24 £22,186/£41k MFiT T6 #24 £4,700/£29k0 -
Not sure about being able to drip feed it throughout the year as it says on the webpage:Pay in up to your 2012/13 cash ISA allowance between the 6th and the 14th April 2012.1 For accounts opened in the 2011/2012 tax year, additional deposits are allowed between 06 April 2012 and 14 April 2012 - which means you can also deposit your 2012/2013 cash ISA allowance.0

I know KTF - which is why I specifically asked the bank assistant...but I don't want to misconstrue other MSE members if I'm incorrect.
I haven't decided on what to do with 12/13 allowance so will keep my eyes on the boards to see if any light is shed on this particular product re dripfeeding.
Either way I'm winning on my past allowances so it's no biggy

I got told that I have those date between which I can add the 2012/2013 subs, but certainly didn't get what you were told from the woman on the phone (not that I asked) about McIlroy, though that gimmick was mentioned merely as a bonus over the 4%. Would be useful to drip feed in, but unusual for a fixed ISA account. Banks/BS often give a small top-up window.0 -
I should clarify my question from earlier. I'm looking to open this for this year's allowance (I have no existing ISAs to transfer), and it looks like the only way to pay in is by cheque. Is this usually the case?
If I went into a branch, would they be likely to accept payment by card?0 -
Its a shame they wont let you make further deposits after April 6th 2013 tax year you going to need to have another isa. Hardly encourages saving through the year either if you then have to save the whole years tax free savings in that small time frame. I know some other fixed accounts are same
Additional deposits are allowed between 6 April 2012 and 14 April 2012 - which means you can also deposit your 2012/2013 cash ISA allowance.0 -

I am in the process of transferring my previous year ISA to this new 2 years fixed Santander Cash ISA.
Can anyone suggest:
1) Which is the correct Santander address to send the form to?
a-
External Cash ISA Transfer Team,
PO Box 1112,
9 Nelson Street,
Bradford, BD1 9NR
(taken from: from http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/Satellite?appID=abbey.internet.Abbeycom&canal=CABBEYCOM&cid=1237836201044&empr=Abbeycom&leng=en_GB&pagename=Abbeycom%2FPage%2FWC_ACOM_TemplateA1)
or
b-
External Cash ISA Transfer Team,
Building 2,
Carlton Park,
Narborough, Leicester,
LE190AL
(taken from the ISA transfer form at:

2) How can you fund the account for the 2012-2013 ISA new tax year? I already have a Santander savings account, but the money
is in an outside account.
After opening, will they provide you with a sort code + account number for the fixed ISA to do direct fund deposits into?
3) My old ISA is with Northern Rock.
Does anyone know the full name and address of the ISA team at Northern Rock (should I use Northern Rock or is it called now Virgin Money for this transfer)?0
