  • When I applied by phone for the 2yr 4% I specifically asked the question about transfers in after the 14 day period as my interpretation was as long as they received the transfer FORM within that period it would be OK (i.e. specifying on the form that the transfer was to take place on 'maturity' of the ISA being moved - the girl went away to check and came back and confirmed that would be OK .....!! seems to directly contradict the above post ...... any other experiences?

Typical Santander customer services eh ! Different answers for different people :(

I am in the same position in that I am transferring my Barclays Golden ISA 3. I selected NO NEW MONEY in the dropdown box and will just fill the transfer form in as soon as they send it to me (I have downloaded one but I don't really want to fill it in as it might be the wrong one).

Did anyone get a confirmation email after applying ? I dont have any existing Santander accounts so that might be why didn't receive anything. I applied yesterday morning.

I applied for it last night on-line, but I haven't received an email confirmation. I hope it's gone through OK. I did get some reference number, I wonder if it's worth ringing them up to ask if they got my application.

I would leave it till tomorrow. I guess they are pretty busy at the moment and if you are a new customer then they might have to do further checks.

I also (a couple of days ago) set up an eSaver account with them with a similar application process and it was the following day before I got a confirmation email.

I'm in the same position and want to make sure the form is the correct one.

I opened the 2 year ISA by phone on Monday and was given the sort code & account number.

Still not received anything in the post. They say 14 days to submit the transfer. That should be 14 days from when they send/we receive the forms.

I just noticed this on page 3 of the one I have just downloaded ...

(Tick if appropriate). I apply to subscribe for a Cash ISA
for the tax year 2009/10 and each subsequent year until
    further notice.
    OR
(Tick if appropriate). I apply to subscribe for a Cash ISA for
the tax year 2010/2011 and each subsequent tax year until
    further notice.

Best I wait for the one they are snail-mailing me I think !

Have you tried this link which is at least a 2012 transfer form from Santander?

    http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/StaticBS?blobcol=urldata&blobheader=application%2Fpdf&blobkey=id&blobtable=MungoBlobs&blobwhere=1223411781106&maxage=3600

It's already dated 08/03/2012 against the signature box.

Cross posted from the best ISA thread...

I have gone for the Santander 4% 2 year one over the phone as my existing ISA was with them and I wanted to transfer it.

Although it wasnt due to mature until the beginning of April they upgraded it over the phone to the new rate as its an instant access one so its now earning 4% rather than the 3.x is was currently on.

Took about 20 mins to setup as they had to read out all the legal t&c, explain the features, etc. (the call centre guys must get fed up of that after a while) but at the end of the call the upgrade was done and already showing online.

Will top it up with next years allowance in April then think about applying for the Zero account after 3 months.

Edit: Seems the Zero Current account has been pulled with the launch of the 123 account :(
Are you sure about the instant access I understood the 2 year fixed rate ISA did not allow withdrawals untill maturity.

My previous ISA with them was an instant access account so could be upgraded without penalty. The new one is fixed for 2 years but with a penalty if you close it.

That's an interesting link (which works!) unlike the Cash ISA Transfer form link on their Transferring your cash ISA is easy page! And I notice the address to send the form is different too.

How did you navigate to the page for that link?
