I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall sometimes.
He's just announced that he's spent over £70 on some house toy thing for our other DD. Apparently they are over £200-300 new, so it is a massive saving. Nevertheless, to me it's a big outlay when we're not rolling in money. In fact I've never seen a bank statement, as it's all done online, so I have no idea how he can spend as much on our daughter as he does. To me it doesn't add up, and that is a scary position to be in. I feel I have no autonomy.
Oh honestly. THIS IS YOUR LIFE! Go into the bank and ask for a bleedin' statement, stop being so limp!Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

I deal with the finances in this house because it's easier but my husband has full access to bank statements, online banking, bank cards etc and knows what comes in and what goes out.
I'm sorry but your husband is from a different age, he should have been born a few generations ago, we've moved on from a time when little wifey did as her husband said and didn't need to trouble her pretty little head with difficult things like finances.Dum Spiro Spero0 -
I have not read all of this thread, but I have never heard of such a load of old bollards. If my OH attempted to shift me in to the back of the car that I had brought - so his mate could ride up front, I would boot him out and drive off! The cheek of it.
OP people will only treat you how you ALLOW yourself to be treated..The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
I think the etiquette is to offer a visitor the front passenger but we all know that the driver's partner should be allowed to sit in the front. It's like offering to pay the bill for a meal even when someone has offered to pay, so they turn you down. Just good grace.0

Your husband's a childish, selfish arse, OP. Why not learn to drive yourself? It won't stop your husband being a wally, but it will remove one of the ways he has to belittle you."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

I think these 3 posts pretty much sum your husband up.I enjoy a pint of beer each night for it's health benefits. The other pints are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.0 -
etiquette to offer a visitor the front seat? What next, 'please sleep in my bed' or 'please feel free to have a go on my missus'...The opposite of what you know...is also true0

That last one it's at my discretion (I am the missus so I reckon I get a say) but if I have a couple coming to visit then yes, I offer them my bed and I take the sofa! Ditto if I know that the visitor has a back problem that won't cope with the sofa. I do draw the line at taking the high bed though, but given that I use a wheelchair I think that's reasonable. :rotfl:Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
