I would def send it by recorded delivery, but also phone a day or so after royal mail say it was delivered to check they have received it.
According to Santander they hadn't received the one i sent on their pre paid envelope so i sent another recorded delivery, royal mail say it was delivered, they say they hadn't received it so i ended up sending it by fax in the end!!0 -
I posted a while ago to ask if we should pursue a ppi claim on a First Plus for a loan repaid in full 5 years before we went bankrupt in 2008. Discharged in 2009. Guessed the answer was could claim but any rebate would go to OR. afterlooking through other posts. A number of posters suggest speaking to the trustee or OR direct. Our trustee said anything due we could keep as it was all done and dusted before the bankrupcy. Phoned OR just to check and was laughed at. Did mention to him that someone here had said they had gone through their OR and got 40% of the refund. Still laughing at me when he hung up. If we claimed everything back that was due, it would almost wipe out the bankrupcy amount. I suppose the moral thing to do is to pursue the claims and just hope that they send the money to the OR?0

Hi can anyone advise as filled in all the forms off MSE and sent off to Welcome finance over 4 weeks ago, phoned today to see how PPi claim was going and they said we should receive a letter within 7 days(im pressuming with an offer), but was wondering what we should be looking for money wise?
HP was with welcome for a car, total amount of PPI £2,400 and included in the finance at 37.8%APR (total loan amount was £14,000) over 48 payments although this was settled after 32 payments. This was back in 2007 when it was settled?
Any pointers would be a massive help as currently redundant with 4 children and on benefits, so any monies coming back to us would be like a lottery win
Cheers and will keep you updated when letter finally arrives.0 -
UPDATE.
phoned barclaycard while relaxing in the sun.
asked for an update on my claim to be told a letter was sent out on the 11th saying my claim had failed, and the reasons why.
never received letter,as i'm guessing they never posted it, and they wouldnt explain over the phone why i'd not won my claim, just that they would send out another copy.
(another delaying tactic)
told them ,ok fos it is, and see you in court if needed.
didnt sound bothered at the other end of the line, and was happy to get rid of me.
thanks barclaycard for making me wait 16 weeks to be told "no".
i know i've got a good case, you know i've got a good case, but lets make him wait another few months before we pay out.
ITS MY MONEY,YOU CONNED ME OUT OF IT,SO PAY UP.
any advice now would be helpfull, got letter coming from the fos, only got few statements from account i'm claiming for,but all show ppi on them.
my reasons for my claim are:
1. i was told at point of sale in branch that i couldnt have credit card unless i had the ppi part. "no ppi no card." . if i'd know it was optional i wouldn't have left it on my account for the full time i held it. wasnt until all this ppi scandal came out that i realised i was mis sold it.
2. didnt need ppi as i had been in full employment for over 7 years, had one months full sick pay,and full pay if off with serious injury.
3. if i was made redundant ,i had over seven years of redundancy pay coming to me,which would have covered the balance of my credit card, and would have been paid off in full.0 -
My wife and I have both put in complaints about loans we have taken out over the last 12 years.
I did my complaints first over the phone and when I got all the paper work through two of the loans that I had been told had PPI on I was then told didn't. I rang them straight up to enquire and they told me these were joint loans and my wife was the lead name and would need to complain herself.
They also didn't list all the reasons why I told them I was complaining. These were we were told the PPI was a condition of the loan, I had 6mths full pay and 6mths half pay and that it was front loaded. They only listed it was a condition of the loan. I had to ring them and get this amended.
My wife then rang to report exactly the same and she has now had a letter in the post stating that one of the loans does not have PPI and on the other loans again it only states the one reason being that it was a condition of the loan. Again it was meant to be the three reasons stated in my claim.
This will mean another lengthy telephone call to Lloyds when she can get time to call them due to work commitments.
When I spoke to one of the guys that was really helpful and was English he told me that one of their call centres is abroad and one is in England and it is pot luck which one you get.
Has anyone else found them to be really poor and does anyone have any tips on how to progress these claims.
Do these three points seem valid reasons for a complaint?
Thanks!!!0 -

Just put it in the prepaid envelope, recorded has to be signed for and this could delay your payout.0 -

Number 2, how many months sick pay did you get? it looks like you get one months full pay if you are off sick the way you have worded this, you would need to have had more than this to be able to repay the card, also if you had life insurance, this and the sick pay, would cover 2 of the PPI covers that you get, so why would you have need this PPI?, you need to show them that you could pay this card under any circumstances.
Number 3, this is good if you would have cleared the card or continued to pay it.0 -
