In our area when you bid on properties being 1st or 2nd or 3rd is no guarantee that you will get the property.
If the property is adapted in any way it is given to the first person on the list who has a disabled need - even if that person is 20th they would still be offered it.
Also if you are in rent arrears but are at the top you are skipped then as well.
Hopefully this is what happens in your area.
Failing that, I agree you need to shout from the rooftops at anyone that will listen and get all your ammunition ready for the next 4 bed property.
We work on a bidding system here EE, those in high prority obviously jump up above the queue above the medium and low bidders. then it goes in order of first bidders....to stand any change we need to be high priority and first to bid. The Mp may get us moved in to high priority but couldn't sort out the whole bidding system.Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

The bank looks rather bare until Thursday and the orange fuel light came on this morning. The fridge doesn't look overly exciting but the food we have in is "functionable"........ Mr Hinge is going to grumble
Last nights slow cooker curry wasn't a great hit for anyone
I have peeled the last of the wrinkly spuds.... a huge pan has made enough mash for superman until shopping day on Thursday. it has topped my "seen better days" veggies bathing in cheese sauce to go with some pork chops from the freezer for tonight and made enough wedges to keep Mr Hinge going.
Tonight: pork chops cheesey veg pie
Wednesday: meat balls (freezer) with spag bol and hm garlic bread
breakfast is porridge or wheataix and lunch is ham sandwiches with a packet of "red" no-ones favourite so sit in the basket crisps :rotfl:
other than hospital this afternoon and the school run tomorrow we wont need the car until we can feed it after pay day! :rotfl:
We are working to address the cash flow problems that we regularly seem to have from money coming in dribs and drabs. I know when the DWP finally sort everything out now I have left work it will be alot easier.
Mr H had a letter from the Black horse bank today regarding a old OD debt that he has been trying to pin down for 3 years. £1348.20 to add to the total debt  Although it seems my PPI investigations indicate I had 4 accounts with it not the 2 I "knew" about so will get some letters fired off and hope to hear back from them soon.Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

Worse for wear cheesy veggie pie went down relatively well..... Superman had his mash of course and Mr Hinge shouldn't wasn't hungry :rotfl: the leftovers have been blitzed up and watered down alittle to make a thick and creamy sauce for mac and cheese :j
taking bets on how long before Mr Hinge raids the fridge for a sausage sarnie?!
Home made "cake in a mug" with custard for pudding, jelly is setting in the fridge and I have left over custard to make some mini trifles for tomorrows pack ups.
3 PPI forms posted in total with the one I sent last week..... will do the last one tonight:oLiving in a superhero induced haze :A:A

Sorry should have clarified, we also have a bidding system and it works like yours unless their is a disabled adapted (either level access shower, wheelchair access etc) and then it goes to the first bidder with a requirement of that adaptation.
If your bidding system works how you say then I think this is something that should be raised by one of the local councillors as it is them that sign off policies etc (unless you are a Unitary Authority and that works differently). They shouldn't be putting a family without a disability in a disabled adapted property when there are plenty of families with disabilities who need them.
If I was closer I would fight your corner!

.
Too be fair some of my best meals have come together from just throwing everything in to cook together and seeing what the result is.
The problem is I forget how I made it and can never get it tasting the same again.
Can you divvy your money up as it comes in and have an account or envelope just for food? Plus a separate one for bills etc?
The food account for us is a separate current account which I had not used for a while, DH and I both put in £100 on our paydays and then when Child Benefit comes in we put in another £100 so over a month we have £300 going into the account and I buy as and when.
Hopefully when Income Support do their calculations it will be ok - have you definitely given notice for work? (sorry if you have mentioned this before)0 -

The house we live in is not suitable for Missy Hinge due to her being in the loft room and unable to use a loft ladder, her bath lift has helped solve the bathing problem, the house that was availible wasn't adapted as such but it had a walk in shower cubicle and a down stairs bedroom so suited her needs. I think when they do have properties that have adaptions they do say on the bidding notes that priority will be given to applicatants that require the adaptations although they are open for everyone to bid and if they were first in line and no one with disabilities bid then the house would go to them.Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

I tried using "purses" I think the problem is having enough of a buffer to be able to take the required amount of money out each week and still have enough for the DD. either that or I need to spread out the DD so there are some each week and not all at the same time.
But your right once the Income support is sorted out it will work out much easier I think, I have handed my notice in and had written confirmation from Work about finishing etc.... It is hard as Mr Hinge had to make the application and I think they have messed him around alittle as he isn't very confident nor assertive. We have finally managed to get them to talk to me so fingers crossed it will be sorted soon. We just need that sorted to sort HB and then it is just a case of waiting for a decison on Missy Hinges Dla. I am hopeful she will get awarded a rate that will make me eligible for CA. I am sure her needs indicate at least MRC and possible HRM rather than just the low rate she was awarded last year.
I have done a SOA for when everything is settled and even if Missy Hinge's Dla doesn't change we will be in a better position to clear this debt :jLiving in a superhero induced haze :A:A

Morning
Oooooh your housing situation makes me . Like Eager_Elephant I wish I was nearer......
I agree getting your local councillor on board is a really good idea..... I nearly was one, and I know an enquiry asking why etc does at times help to get over the officials want to do what is black and white ... Ie you dropped down because it was a recommendation......!!!!!!!!!
Now with my OT hat on....... Have you got housing assessment reports from both Missy Hinge and Supermans teams or Social services? This would put more weight on top of the consultants letter. We look into how actually the day to day functions are impaired and would write a detailed report. With both their needs you could have two, then the housing manager would have all the evidence he needed.
Wish I could come and support you .....
You are doing brilliantly :j:j:jAs a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

They have a letter from Missy Hinge's OT outlining all her difficulties, all the equiptment she has and what she needs and why this house is not suitable. They have had letters from all her pain clinic, paed, rhuemy etc.... also which outlines her condition. Superman doesn't have a OT but they have had several reports from the community paed along with his SEN and letter of diagnoises outlining all his difficulties. They have even had proof of his HRC Dla which for housing benefit actually automatically qualifys him for his own bedroom!!!
As we don't have a social worker we don't have a Social service OT it is a health one. They accepted her report after some whittling about it so her needs are not actually in dispute it is just Superman's need for his own room. Sigh.

Oh I just want to come and give you such a big hug...... Strong tea and cake
I should have known you would have got everything.... So I would copy it all and send it to your councillor and MP and ask them to enquire why you are not a top priority case.... Always find when I feel like you.... That doing something is positive ..... And you will win the day.....
