Also sending you positive thoughts to get through this difficult time - I know you will make the right decision about the funeral.
Glad DLA have written to you - I know it is more weeks to wake but if they increase her current award then it will be backdated so a little lump sum to come.
Re social housing - do you need some help with this? I support people all the time to move.
Our local authority is great although waiting times to move can be huge. I have one guy who has been waiting 18mths to move to a wheelchair adapted bungalow - the first9 months he was on the waiting list and the other 9months was waiting for the building work to be done.
There are not enough disabled adapted properties about. My guy had 2 brain haemorrhages and was left severely disabled, he was a home owner but could only use 2 rooms of his house. I know there were no properties before the one they gave him as I get to see all the properties available. Luckily one came up that could be adapted and that's what they did.
Are you on the waiting list to move? Are they aware of Missy H's disability? Do they have an OT assessment to advise what property is suitable and what is needed? Have they given any indication of waiting times?
Failing all that you will need to involve your MP or local councillor.0 -
Mrs Hinge lovely to hear the good news about the court case.
Things are moving in the right direction because of your perseverance. It will get better

Last night my beloved friend came to visit. I cooked us chinese and saved ££ on a take away and inches from our waist lines :rotfl:
We knattered for hours and problem shared and all that...... I went to bed feeling more settled but just as confused about the funeral as I have always been. I need to make a decision as to if I am going or not as Master Hinge has a hospital appoiontment that day and I would need to re-arrange and sort out child care so Mr Hinge could come with me.... it is easily 3hours each way driving. I do know that what every decision I make it will be for me and me only.
EE strangely I visited the council offices today to drop of some updated paperwork for Superman and Missy H and enquired about our "banding" we have been placed in the medium priority which they tell me is very good and it is a lack of 4 beds that is the problem rather than people ahead of me..... When the lady dealing with our updated paperwork had alook back she felt we should have been graded as High priority not medium ( they missed superman's need for his own bedroom) and will up band us before this bidding session ends. This week's bidding has a house in our area perfect for our needs and we are currently number 4 priority BEFORE the up banding. She is hopeful the upbanding will make us first priority :T only time will tell though and I am trying not to get my hopes up as Wednesday is the day we will know and it seems so far away!!! keep everything crossed for us and boy could we use some good news right now!
Stripes my lardy A£$e will make a creator of it's own never mind a dent :rotfl:Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

Are you on the waiting list to move? we have been on the list 11 months now
Are they aware of Missy H's disability? yes
Do they have an OT assessment to advise what property is suitable and what is needed? yes they have had a letter outlining all the requirements and explaining needs..... they took the oooomph to start with as it was a Nhs Ot not a SS one but in the end agreed it did the same job!!
Have they given any indication of waiting times? No, just that 4 beds are like rocking horse !!!!!!!!
Failing all that you will need to involve your MP or local councillor........ please tell me more!

On another positive level Missy H has been choosen to be a group of four children to take part in the national young mathematician awards 2014 due to her getting the highest exam mark in her year
:D:D:D if successful she will go to the final at cambridge university

I feared 4 beds were rare in your area - fingers crossed that you go up to priority banding and you get this property which sounds ideal.
To find your local councillor (these are people voted in by the community during certain elections, they will each cover a ward of your district or borough council. They usually have full time jobs but want to do their bit for the community plus they have aspirations to be an MP. Do a google search for your local authority and the word councillors - that should bring up the list of people and how to contact them.
If you want to find your local MP - then use this website - http://findyourmp.parliament.uk/
These are people that have been voted in at elections every few years and will represent certain parties. They like helping people especially when elections are close - we have some in May 2015 so your local one would love to help:rotfl:
Well done to Missy H with her maths - she is one great daughter! I am so pleased she does not let her disability hold her back.0 -
