    Reit te, I'm confident I'm back.... :j

We have moved the computer into the caravan so there is a hope of me being able to use it for more than just emergencies and business necessities.

It feels like ages and I'm sure I've missed loads.

It's been a struggle here in many ways. Living in the caravan has its charms, but it's not easy with 3 kids. The weather's been atrocious, the architect is on Pembroke Time (although we bear some responsibility for the slowness of the process), he then forgot that he'd promised us a maximum fee so there were some stressy weeks 'til we sorted that out. And just the busy-ness of family life now that we are integrated into the village: there's ferrying the kids to and from nursery and school, after school stuff three or four times a week, Welsh lessons and homework for me (I'm improving gyda'r dysgu Cymraeg), ill in-laws, loads of refurbs on the rental properties because of the rain over the "Summer".

There have also been new friends made, many trips to the beach, enjoying the birds which are now visiting our bird table, seeing the kids grow, make friends and start to bloom, son is now bilingual and learning to read in both Welsh and English.

    Mixed blessings.

We still have no animals yet, but are in no rush as we're so involved with the kids for now. And then of course, we'll have a huge refurb come Spring. I thank my lucky stars that we bought this place as it's such a great mix of meadow, woodland, stream, view etc etc. We don't seem to be at risk of the floods that have afflicted some of our friends nearer to the coast or on lower ground.

I tried to do a tiny bit of gardening which was promptly ruined by the heavy winds and rains we had last week so I've resigned myself to not buy anything else until we are prepared, prepared, prepared. If we can get the place cleared of all the overgrown stuff and the rubbish that the previous occupant left, we'll be doing okay.

I'll do some catching up tonight once the kids are in bed. I feel like I'm back in civilization with a computer in the static!

    Davesnave....

I need you again...I saw a pencil tree in a gardens centre and have forgotten what is called. Something like 'something spurgy'. Grows to about sixteen feet tall but only two feet wide . I don't remember anything else, but want to look it up and find out more about it.

Rozee, kids are a great way of integrating, and with your afforts to learn Welsh new friends should be plentiful. Sounds like your dream is hitting a few high notes already (how bad a mixed metaphor is that?)

Well, stayed home today... unconnected with a good time at the village wine and cheese do last night. Gave our overgrown wisteria a prune to let in the light, it wont flower nx year now but it was getting too gloomy.

Choille has just come up trumps on identifying a material on some dress buttons I bought, moss agate it now appears :T.

Plodding away with fresh listings, sales doing better this week but I also gave a big refund on an item sold last week where I got description wrong. I was clearly incorrect, bad mistake :o.

The normal Italian ones are italian cypress, or pencil cypress, don't know 'proper name' but think this is different, the guy at the place told me they never get wider than about two feet. The leaves from a distance looked a little like yew to me.

Not sure if I want them yet, just toying with an idea, and first thing to do is find out if I for I have a bout size is right and whether our smile etc would be good for them. If I do get them it will not be till next year....I already have too much in pots needing care. (thank goodness in a way this summer was wet on that front)

Good to hear from you rozee and heartening to read that you're appreciating the benefits of your location. You have a good mix of land there, and no serious down-sides, except perhaps a bit of windiness, which is what we have too. You learn to cope with that....well almost. I still had my courgettes blown out of the ground this year! :rotfl:

Our first 18 months was getting it clear and tidy, but I think that amount of time is needed to evaluate any place with land. We're still coming up with different ideas.

We get to see our Plan B next week. Once we've tweaked it, we can put it in front of some builders and see where we are, perhaps. ;)

Did you let him use it? I think I would have called the police, not a taxi, if someone knocked on my door at that time of day

I would have let him use it, and recorded it, got his name and use it as part of the case for how this is impacting on you.

Right, off to move some more electric fencing, last move in the summer grazing for this year.
