Wong item sent to buyer

  • Btw, you bored me with the dog story ages ago.
  • Personally I wouldn't send the 2nd item untill I had proof of Tracking Ref number that the item I sent out by mistake was on the way back to me, then id send the correct item to buyer.

If you send the correct item to buyer, the buyer could say "they have sent the wrong item back to you" ... and you end up never receiving that item back and you will be more out of pocket.

Why should the buyer give tracking when the seller didn't?

Personally if I was the seller in this situation, i would of sent the buyer the money to cover the postage so they could send the item back to me 'recorded delivery' :) provide me with the tracking reference number and id happily send the correct item out knowing for peace of mind that the item I sent by mistake was on the way back to me :)

I personally would send the correct item out straight away and have done previously.

Yes it's £50 (or £100 depending on your point of view) but it was the OP's mistake and if you don't receive it back then it's an expensive lesson learnt but it is not the buyers fault - it is yours!

I was actually very surprised on the 2 occasions that I have replaced without requesting return 1st that both of the buyers actually sent the items back as promised.

Ohhhh re recorded delivery - if the buyer was out to 'scam' you wouldn't they just send an empty box or something for approx the same weight? ;-)

The discussion is still going, as bar one or two, you have found a way to diss everyone's opinion and keep boring us with your whys and wherefores.

Trying to stabilise your argument by suggesting the buyer doesn't even know if the correct item hasn't gone elsewhere! It hasn't gone elsewhere there is no mix up with her correct parcel. Don't justify something with possibilities that didn't even exist....;)

Why come on here when you cannot see you are WONG! :rotfl::rotfl:

I have found a way to diss everyone's opinion? I have decided how I will proceed and just because it is not the way you and a few others would proceed, does not mean it is the wrong way to deal with this situation.

There is two ways you can deal with this, either wait for the return of the first item before sending the second item OR send the second item before you receive the first one back. Neither of those options are anymore right than the other, it is entirely up to the seller/retailer how they want to proceed.

So how am I in the WONG just because I chose a different way to proceed than you would?

    ..........

Now what do I do. This might sound like a stupid question but do I send off the item tomorrow morning or wait a few days to receive the other item back? ........

Can I ask why you came on this site asking what to do, when quite clearly you'd already made that decision?

Now that most people are saying you should do something different to what you decided you're getting very defensive.

So if you can't accept other people's opinions, what's the point of asking?

Very defensive? I just can't stand the cheek of some of the posters on the eBay boards who think they are always right. And just because I am not doing it their way, it is the wrong way. It's not the first time I have noticed this sort of thing on this board and I know it won't be the last. There is some very rude members who post on this board.
Rule number one: Be nice to other MSE.

I didn't ask for advice. I was undecided how to proceed so I wanted to know what others would do in this situation and looked at if from both sides. I decided how I would proceed after reading the replies. So because I am not doing it the way they would do it, I am wrong. :o
