You should have requested the return postage up front.

I did. The seller didn't reply. If I hadn't posted it that day it would probably have been weeks before I could have sent it as I was going into hospital the next day. I accepted that it was a genuine mistake by the seller, and trusted her to reimburse me. More fool me - I even had to start a paypal dispute to get back the money I'd paid for the dress - which she refused to send to me until I'd sent back the coat.

It is sellers like that who give e-bay a bad name.

And yes, I did leave negative feedback and low DSRs

My point was that retailers do exist that offer the service the correct way around.

You seem intent on being in the right, not a lot of people on here seem to agree with you. But you will no doubt continue to disagree.

At the end of the day, whether it's ebay, JLP or Argos, the buyer still needs to have the item they paid for. You sent the wrong item and are dithering to send out the correct one.

I started this thread to see how other sellers have dealt with these situations since I have never been in this situation before. There is no right or wrong way of doing it. Not everyone agree's that is is right to send the second item out without return of the first item. Not all retailers will send the correct/replacement item out without arranging for collection of the first item first. So just because the retailers you use do send replacements out first and you would do the same does not mean it is the correct way of dealing with these situations.

Well now you know that a lot of sellers would deal with the situation differently from you. You still believe that you have behaved correctly.
That's the end of the discussion really, isn't it? There isn't much point in continuing with this thread!

As said, there is no right or wrong way to deal with this situation.

I have already stated in my previous post how I will be proceed. If you are unhappy that there is a discussion still ongoing then you may wish you PM a Board Guide who will lock the thread.

Hermum - you tell me an retailer (proper one) that would send you a second item without the first one back, and i will show my rear in Woolies window.

Early Learning Centre. This Christmas. In fact they did better than this.

They sent me the same item twice, and charged me twice for it. I contacted them immediately, they refunded me immediately, and told me to either keep the additional second item or give it to a charity shop. Value: £25.

It's a shame Woolies have already gone broke. They'd have made a profit from the crowd gathered outside the plate glass, if they could have dragged their eyes away from the main display:rotfl:

Actually this thread shows there is. A right way and your way.

You just (yet again) to want to read what isn't written. :D

Many sellers and retailers will send the second item before first item is returned and many will not. So just because you would send the second item before return of the first does not mean I and others who will not, are doing it the wrong way. As I previously said, there is no right or wrong way.

If you repeat enough you will believe it.

But not me and the others on here.

There is a right way, it isn't your way. so NO, there is no right or wrong way, just a right way.

But you cannot, will not, do not see.

    You're boring me now.

Why is this discussion still going? I have already decided how I will proceed and it is not YOUR way so it must be the WRONG way because you are ALWAYS RIGHT.

The discussion is still going, as bar one or two, you have found a way to diss everyone's opinion and keep boring us with your whys and wherefores.

Trying to stabilise your argument by suggesting the buyer doesn't even know if the correct item hasn't gone elsewhere! It hasn't gone elsewhere there is no mix up with her correct parcel. Don't justify something with possibilities that didn't even exist....;)

Why come on here when you cannot see you are WONG! :rotfl::rotfl:
