Wong item sent to buyer

  • If I were your buyer I would happily send the incorrect item back to you or the other buyer once I'd received my original purchase. Otherwise I'd assume you were scamming me.

Why would you assume I was scamming you?

My OH has sent the wrong item to my buyer, although it is my responsibility because it is my account.

The item which has been sent to the buyer sold for around the same price the original item sold for.

I informed the buyer of the item mix up before she even received it and sent return postage cost straight away (before she even had the item).

She sent me a message yesterday confirming she has received the item and will post it back ASAP.

How would that suggest I am out to scam you/her? If I was out to scam her, why would I send her an item - inform her she will be receiving the wrong one then provide return postage cost? She could open an INR claim and not send it back so she could be out to scam me. She would win the claim since I did not send the item tracked.

So how am I in the WONG just because I chose a different way to proceed than you would?

I think this is in reference to your question! :D :rotfl:

Perhaps if you read what people say with an open mind you wont get the reaction you seem to get on these boards.

Perhaps if you actually read through my posts in this thread you would see that I stated I have looked at it from both sides of the fence ie: other views other than my own.

What reaction do I tend to get on these boards? I am not familiar with your username but you seem to be familiar with my posts as well as other posters who have no idea who you are either:

I have read this thread and perhaps because I am not native English, I don't read it quite like you portray it, maybe because I read what is written.

I have no idea who you are, but recall a post on here that got you very defensive. It wasn't dissimilar to this one, where most did not understand why you had posted when clearly you were unhappy with the responses not being what you wanted to hear.

I have no gripe with you or your opinion but you do seem to read what you want to read and get annoyed with those who don't write it so.

The comments you give don't indicate someone who is using a balanced viewpoint.
    You're boring me now.

A few asked why I had posted because they ASSUMED I had already made my decision before I posted. I did not post here for advice. I posted here because I was unsure how to proceed. Some would take the same route I would and others wouldn't, so I looked at it from both sides and just because I would not take the same route the regular's would - it is the wrong way.

I have made my decision and get asked why this discussion is still going. The reason this discussion is still going is because they are continuing to post in the thread, it's not difficult to understand is it.

A certain member repeats himself saying there is a right way and my way - his way is the right way, my way is the wrong way. No I did not get very denfensive but I did not want to contiune going round in circles so I stated he was boring me. He then brings my dogs in to it which suggests he has been trawling through my posts. Pathetic.

I don't think you are scamming her based on what you've written. I'm just saying that if I were the buyer that is what I would assume. As the buyer I wouldn't have the benefit of seeing your version here. As an eBay buyer you have to be wary.

The reason being is that you are withholding her item until you've received the other item back. If you were scamming, you COULD be playing for time until its too late for her to open an INR.

Thankfully I have an understanding buyer. She is happy to wait for her item after I explained I will send it off Next Day delivery when I have confirmation the other item is on it's way back.

She could of had her item today had she been able to get to the PO. It is not my problem she can only post on Monday's so I am not the one playing with time. I have even offered to refund her on return of the first item but she is happy to wait for the original item.

As I said, the item was sent 2nd class standard with no tracking. If she thought I was scamming her she could easily claim the item was not received but she is happy to send the item back before I send the original item.

If I follow other advice and send the item now, there is nothing to stop her keeping the first item. So I could be at a loss, she could still open an INR claim and win since I did not send the first item tracked.

  • OP You are so full of it!! "It is not my problem she can only post on Monday's so I am not the one playing with time."

Have you any idea how unreasonable you are being?
YOU made a mistake and now, because of that mistake you are expecting your buyer to have to wait longer for the item she has paid you for, inconveniencing her by asking her to send a mistaken item back to you and you wont post her rightful item until you get the other back.

Why wont you post it to her? Shes paid for it?
If you dont get the other item back what are you going to do? Not give her the right one? Then she will open a dispute.

Plus, she doesnt even have to return it if she doesnt want to but you DO have to send her what she has rightfully paid for.

There is no sense in doing what you are doing.

As for other retailers. I have never come across a retailer who has NOT corrected their mistakes first and have always sent a replacement out to me or others even before the other is sent by. Quite often they would pass each other anyway.

You dont seem to understand at all that what youre doing does not even benefit you.

So full of what '??' Did you actually read the whole thread or just pick out one sentence at random?
If you were scamming, you COULD be playing for time until its too late for her to open an INR.
How am I playing for time? I sent the item 2nd class on the day the payment was received (Monday). Buyer received the item 2 days later. Had she been able to post back Wednesday or Thurdsay then she would of had her item by Friday or Saturday. It is not my fault she can only post back on Monday's so how is it me playing with time?

I should receive the item back on Tuesday. She will receive her item Wednesday, 9 days after payment. Last time I checked, Paypal allowed cases to be opened 45 days after payment so it won't be too late to open a claim.
