Do you let guests sleep in your bed?

I don't know why anyone is having a go at me to be honest, it's just one of my weird ways. Seriously from some of your tones I think you need to get out more. My sister has not asked, nor is bothered - if she was she would sneak up there and sleep in it anyway.
Crikey, you'll all be saying I should let her wear my clothes and undies too so she does not have to pack anything, next.
We don't have many people come to stay and we do not go to stay at there - we have a disabled child and do not get invited anywhere really either. We have only once slept somewhere else - with the kids - and we all had beds on the floor, in the lounge, while they slept in their bed so we are not the only ones. It's not a big deal for us but other people might find that weird too.
Everyone is weird, they all have different weird ways - you might have ways that I find weird but might think you are incredibly normal. For a start, I don't get those people who have those electric soap dispensers who will not touch anything but then open the door with their hand on the way out..... now that IS weird!!!!! And don't even get me started on that anti-bacterial hand gel that people insist on carrying everywhere in case they die of something while out shopping......0 -
I'd happily let family members stay in my bed, wouldn't even bother changing sheets after to be honest, if it was just for one night, I would if it was a few nights though.
I would let non-family members stay in my bed too, but I would change the sheets.0 -
We house swap & have a 1 bedroom city centre place.
Obviously people are sleeping in our bed for their holiday - we are sleeping in theirs. Yes they could be snooping in our drawers, but then what sort of sad life do they have to want to do that - there isn't anything fascinating to find so let them get on with it if that is how they want to spend their time.
What is the big deal? Everything is clean / sheets etc, we have a matress protector.
More likely to get germs on the plane/ train / bus during travel than someone who is respecting your home.
House swaping has given me a different outlook on material stuff which is quite free-ing and we have some amazing memories & met some great people.0 -

Actually, I don't think people have been "having a go" at you, Blue Monkey - you are the person who raised this point, and asked for people's opinions - which you got.
And as for going out more ....well, I would suggest, gently, that maybe you've just become a tad inward-looking - maybe trying to protect your disabled child? Get out more as a family - risk things, try different things - and as someone else does - think about house exchange - maybe see if you can exchange with another family with a disabled child - just try widening the horizens!0 -
I would and have let family members sleep in my bed, especially if they were doing me a favour of looking after animals whilst I am away. I would expect they do the decent thing and change the bedding before my return though.
I can understand what you mean OP, but on the other hand like others have said, you will have slept in a bed with other peoples bodily fluids before (hotels etc) and they are strangers. The opposite of what you know...is also true0
