I have to say that the majority of posters on here seem to be against the revamp in one way or another.
But the question is: Will the powers that be take any notice?
Or will it be a case of "We have paid for this upgrade and by hook or by crook we are going to go through with it whether our customers like it or not.
Maybe we should say to Martin and Co: Remember new Coke? Remember Insignia?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

It has been a horrible experience for me this afternoon BUT I think this has been because the site is overloaded.
I think I need to go back to being a creature of the night?
Perhaps part of the motivation is to extract more performance out of the existing hardware?
I've yet to see a draw dropping improvement in anything.
I am quite fussy about my postings and try to correct typo's, spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes and double check facts before clicking "post".
It is self evident that there is an algorithm that speeds up the rate of disconnection at busy times, but usually the contents of the posting are still there on a previous screen, when the disconnection crashes ones posting.
I have had a couple of complicated postings today that just disappeared off the face of cyberspace.
Anyone know how the algorithm and the dreaded "token" works?0 -

Love the irony there John.0 -
See what I mean, think how much worse the posting could have been at first draft.;):D

Thanks for the correction on the apostrophe; typos just looks strange to me:
There are one or two cases in which it is acceptable to use an apostrophe to form a plural, purely for the sake of clarity:- you can use an apostrophe to show the plurals of single letters:
Find all the p's in appear.- you can use an apostrophe to show the plurals of single numbers:
These are the only cases in which it is generally considered acceptable to use an apostrophe to form plurals: remember that an apostrophe should never be used to form the plural of ordinary nouns, names, abbreviations, or numerical dates.0 -
Is anyone reading this thread?
The facebook/twitter button thing is actually really bothering me
(the button underneath a post that implies the post can be shared by anyone on their own media profiles)"She who asks is a fool once. She who never asks is a fool forever"
I'm a fool quite often0 -
looks ok but takes ages to load because of all the junk down the side. I know where it is and if I wanted to access it i'll go there directly not using a reminder box down the side.
+1 in the I no likey queue0 -
There is an aweful lot of empty space, especially in short posts.
Don't see why two lines of actual content should take up a whole page of scrollingThanks to everyone who posts competitions0 -
I much prefer the poster's info on the side where it was, and then the messages following on from each other without anything getting in the way0

another vote for the logo to go back to indicate which threads you've posted on. or go back to automatically subscribing to threads (which is a poor second choice!).
other than that, not sure. need to give it more time as it's always difficult straight after a change. no massive adverse reaction immediately! just might take some getting used to.:happyhear0
