I agree with complaints about the " whiteness ", I guess us oldies just don't see as well as we did. After the last changes it took me a good while to find the thread I was following because, as the thread was HUGE by then, a new thread had been started by MSE. Overall I have to agree with the " me-no-likies " and I prefer the old version.:(

Just noticed that the search box at the top right of the screen has a glitch. The text "search" seems unclear and over-typed.

on a widescreen laptop, its poor. huge gaps of nothingness, which are just screaming out to be filled with advertising. I Hate it.

Hold down Ctrl and press + or - to resize your screen on Firefox. It might work on other browsers as well. HTH

Thank you for this. Back to the New masthead, stretchy, less bright skin with the sidebar removed. It's like a whole new forum without all that erm stuff!

I reported that yesterday in IE9. It's ok in Chrome and FF.

I quite like the new format but it isn't a case that it is impossible to make the side panel compact. You really can do it. Also for visual effect, simply remove the panel colors - we'v never had it in our older version and it looked pleasing. This one with a side panel feels like I'm back to school with lines, margins and stars.

I noticed that it is still the old masthead in "Play the game" in the Fun Section. It is the old one in both versions.

Errata

When I hover over a thread title I used to see the complete title, that's stopped working. A quick fix would be nice as now I'm having to click on it to discover what it's about grrrr
