Old thread: 2012 Forum redesign

For the new version,i found that I can not found which post I have post one before. It is a little not convinient.0

PLEASE allow those of us who use the OLD, OLD version (ie the one before the last forum changes you made) to keep the option of having the old, old version. I have sight problems and, though I tried the new (old, new that is - pre the latest changes!) version many times, found it strained my eyes and made viewing very uncomfortable.0

When viewing a board, the new style doesn't seem to have an icon to show that a particular thread is locked.
It also means that we cant see the small arrow that says we have posted on that thread as the feature with the envelope icon for hot or cold thread has gone as well.0 -

Can't believe I missed that. That is a glaring mistake with the new design.

Just noticed something else that seems to be missing, I think, as I cant compare to the old style.
I subscribe to a lot of threads or they appear in my subscribed threads because I have posted on them. One of the first things I do when I log on is go to my subscribed threads to see if any have been updated since my visit and I find this the quickest way to do it.
I am sure there used to be a small icon at the side of each suscribed thread that gave you the option to go directly to that thread where you last read it, ie first new post. That icon seems to be missing now from the subscribed threads list so when you click on the thread link it takes you to the most recent post. I have noticed the first unread icon is at the top of the thread when you link through, but as you have arrived at the last post then it thinks that is the last post you have read and takes you nowhere. Hope this all makes sense. Can we have the first unread icon/link back with the subscribed threads as it wastes time either re-reading posts you have already read or hunting for what you think was the last post you read, which means you may miss something. Some threads do move at a remarkable pace and sometimes my first new post may be several pages back.
The first new post icon seems to be back on the subscribed threads now so either it was a temporary glitch or it has been put back :T0 -
I love the new new design on my smartphone but hate it on my widescreen laptop.

Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time flipping the switches in User CPContext is all.

This new design doesn't work for anyone with a decent sized monitor or an iPhone0

I'm sure I'll just be repeating points here, but always good to have another opinion in the mix:
1. I don't like that poster info is across the top, it makes it hard to read. The 'Newbie' badge is tiny and can't be seen but still stretches the bar.
2. Where has the post information icon gone? The one that shows you which threads you have posted in, or any that are locked? Every forum I use/have ever used has the feature, and removing it is not user-friendly.
3. The online/offline button is far too large. It's bigger than the quote/thanks/report buttons!0 -

I think it's a fact that the new layout is not suitable for anyone with a 16-9 widescreen (which I would have thought is the vast majority of people these days) as your picture illustrates. Maybe the ones who've designed it still have 4-3 screens?
Either way, the new look is awful.
It can be improved by altering the setting in 'View' to 125%, which cuts out most of the junk on the side of the page but it's a pain having to change this just for one website."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
it would be nice and it would be most useful if you could use post #2 to summarise the highlighted points/feedback so far that you recognise and will be implementing, thus enabling and encouraging others with [potential] feedback to participate and report their findings to
not wanting to read all 250 posts myself to discover whether or not what i have to feedback has been mentioned and/or dismissed, nor wanting to duplicate any previously reported feedback and thus waste your time as well by seeing the same thing over and over again, i think it would benefit all to have a regularly updated summary in post #2
thank you
