It won't switch back to the old one, I no likey this one it hurts my eyes, it's too squished up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I think having the username across the top breaks up the flow of the thread. before if I was catching up I could just scroll down and read the conversation. Now it's broken up by the usernames showing at the start of each post IYKWIM

may be the avi pixels can have an auto adjusting feature so that they don't look squashed anymore0

Ok back to the gumf on the right. Have a look at this thread and tell me just how much of the page is take up by a single post and how much extra space is used by all the unnecessary 'widgets'
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3798397
When viewing a thread do we really need all these widgets? In all my years on here I have grown to ignore them and never even realised half of the stuff that was there as it's generally pointless when viewing a thread.

There are numerous vBulletin forums out there to take inspiration from. One that is clean and easy to read is:

4. We will listen to suggestions, but these are only quick tweaks at the moment, a full redesign is coming, so we can't do anything major.
Is that full redesign associated with an upgrade to vBulletin 4.x?
In general that seems to be a better platform for cleaner themes. There are numerous vBulletin forums out there to take inspiration from. One that is clean and easy to read is:

That is a vB 4 forum which (at least if done well) seems to have a better look.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

After a day of 'playing' on here with the new format - I must admit I have gotten used to the usernames being above the posts - have quickly adapted to ignoring these - I guess in the same way I ignore people's signatures - they don't break up the flow. (although with the two of them combined and the 'gap' between posts there can be a big break between actual posts)0

That is so easy to read, most of the colours are also not huge bold blocks but more subtle which is far easier on the eyes. I hope that Martin takes a peek at this as its great. Easily the best looking forum that i've seen.

Last moan of the day (I think!)
Search button has gone a bit loony. IE9, logged in user, all skins.0 -
I've been using the narrower format for a while and find all the white bad for my eyes (I am getting on a bit) so for anyone that has slight sensitivity to the glaring of the white it could be a problem. Equally I also prefer to have name of poster, date (day) & time to the left of the actual post.
Being on the older side means that changes cause me problems but I am willing to try but there are lots of sites out there without all the white/wasted space who's forums are easy to use.
Sorry to sound negativeIf at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.
