Hello my lovely, so sorry to hear that you are missing dear Bear so much but hardly surprising as you clearly loved him dearly. Glad you had a good day with Captain and hope you have a good fun ride with him today. Perhaps he'll do something amusing to ease the pain a little.

I'm sure you'll find a perfect plant for Bear's corner. Your garden sounds lovely.

I'm off to pick up DGDs soon for a day of jumping in puddles because its raining here x

    HI Piq

well done on the employee award.

Your memorial for Bear sounds lovely - hope you manage to find what you want at the garden centre.

Loving hearing that Captain still jumps. I have this week started walking my old chap (well young compared to Captain!). Early days yet but it felt good after 9 months. Vet back out this week to assess.

I hope the picture shows. Today I found these milk churns and I thought how much the Bear would like to have his very own milk churn. They come in various sizes and the largest one seems just right.

I haven't bought it yet as I need to decide on planting. I'd like to have something permanent and then have bulbs for the spring and autumn, pansies for the winter and maybe chocolate cosmos in the summer.

The Captain and I went out for a gentle stroll for some reason he was very taken with the post box and someone somewhere is going to receive a letter covered in horse snot..... maybe it will be one of you....He also stood blatantly staring in through a window at a man scratching his bottom, no amount of kicking him on would make him move until he had finished watching :o Naturally the man saw us, it's difficult not to see a large black and white horse with his nose against your window :o I will be taking a different route for a while as I'm sure the man thinks I am some sort of pervert :o

I've cut back the huge climbing rose outside the living room and tied it into the arch above the gate, took ages. I've swept up last years leaves so there's plenty of space for this years leaf fall!

Put the leaves into a black bin bag, stab a few holes and leave for 6 months you'll have lovely leaf mould for the garden.

Milk churns look fab. You could have a look at the ad trader on line under the gardening section, they sometimes have some bargains for planters.

Morning Piq, your plans for the garden sounds lovely :)

What is it with horses being nosey and embarassing us, Baldrick used to wait till we found some nice unsuspecting old couple in the woods, waited till we said hello and then let out a massive fart :rotfl: he did this everytime, when we were on our own he was silent, lil git

Although I don't post much I do keep up to date with your diary which I love.
I am so sorry to hear about the Bear. How sad for you on top of everything else. I can't really add much more but my heart goes out to you.

Oh Piq, I've not been on the site for a few days.... I'm so, so sorry to hear about the Bear. And it's really sad that your daughter isn't here to share your grief.

The milk churn is lovely and soooo fitting. It's not often I advocate non-essential spending, but BUY IT!
