I will gladly join you dearest Great Aunt Piq. I have a glass of red for a change this evening. The same glass has lasted me for hours which I am very proud of.

The Soup sounds yummy, I nipped to A3da in t e end as DD1 fancied soup as she has a sore throat , and as my cupboards are in such a sorry state I had nothing at all to make soup out of for her. They both complained though as they apparently only like homemade soup !! xx

Well done on the award :D I'm right in the mood for soup now you're all talking about it! I may have to make some tomorrow...though must adapt the recipe as I know it won't do my boyfriend any good sticking cream in it like I normally do!

  • :T:T Well done on the award AND the roadkill find! :T:T

If there's any cream cheese left, and you happen to have icing sugar and cream in stock, there are great recipes online for cream cheese frosting (for cupcakes) which is amazing. Bake yourself some cupcakes (or an 18p sponge mix from Sainsburys basics does just as well at a push) and enjoy the treat. :)
  • I forgot to Congratulate you last night ! :j:T:j

Slapped wrists for me I think ! I never find any roadkill, well only Euros oh and a Polish Coin the other day, that wont get me very far !! :D

I am so sorry to hear about Bear, I have not been on for ages so just read your diary :(... Having had to put our beloved old boy down several years ago I feel your pain, but the suffering and stress that they go through makes it the "right" thing to do. However the loss of them makes it heartbreaking. They are part of your life, your family and that makes them very special.
I have two boys and dont know how on earth I will manage when the time comes. I would really like them just to go to sleep and not wake up, no pain no stress but realistically that is very unlikely.
I think you were lovely not telling your daughter and also taking time out from the Captain so he didnt see your stress, that makes you such a special person.
Just remind yourself of the fond memories you hold of the Bear and weep as much as you need to, sometimes life seems to throw us an awful period of sh11tyness ... But it will end, and things will get better...(((hugs)))xx

I am so far behind reading your diary I have no hope of catching up :(

So, so, so very sorry to hear about Bear though and your plans for his homecoming sound wonderful and very fitting.

It must have been tough not being able to share it with DD but I fully understand your reasons. Sending you big hugs.

:T How lovely that you got the award at work :T

I'm missing the Bear horribly. I miss him running to the car to greet me, except when it was raining, of course, then he would wait just inside the front door. Always ready to tell me his food bowl was empty! I miss him in the evening, I've left his bed in the living room, when it's dark it's easier to pretend he's snoozing there, without the very loud snoring though. And most of all, I miss him lying next to me in bed...

I'm going to pop to a garden centre to get some ideas of what to plant for him, I think I'll enjoy that, they may even sell the flat stone I'm looking for.

I had lovely cuddles with the Captain, he was very loving, groomed him until he gleamed and then watched him doing lots of small jumps with my friends daughter. He was over the moon, he loves jumping and doesn't see how tiny the jumps are these days. He's not doing badly for a horse nearly 27 years old! He had the day off yesterday, if he's been particularly energetic I let him rest the old bones for a day or so! Although as it's sunny today, he and I are going out somewhere.

I was clearing the back garden to make a safe haven for the Bear, I'm going to continue as it's quite nice to see the return of an established garden. I'd forgotten about the rose arbour and the woodland garden at the top of the garden (needs a lot of work as it's reverted somewhat :o) The pump in the well has broken, I'll leave replacing it until next year, there's no point now as it will probably freeze over the winter, the honeysuckle over it is very weedy and needs cutting back and feeding (with banana skins, whatelse? :rotfl:)
Off to the garden centre I go....
