Oh Piq, I am so sorry, wish there was something I could do to help. Feeling utterly helpless in the face of your pain, but sending very much love; not telling your daughter about the Bear was very, very brave and unselfish of you. You are obviously an extremely kind, compassionate and thoughtful person, (not to mention an excellent writer) and my greatest hope is that you get the joy - and the job - that you so richly deserve. Hang on in there. xxxxx

Oh my dear, hugs, slap on the back, bug grin and I stand here in awe of your totally unselfish behavior towards the Bear and your DD.
Do call the bank and see if they will be nice, or go see them in person and don't be afraid to blackmail them with a few tears.

We all love and adore you here, as does Captain - go have a lovely horse snog with him. We are here to help you xx x

Although it feels like it right now, your life is not pants Piq. Definitely the right decision made re Bear - difficult but the right one. Many years ago, the day after I went to university the 2 cats I had know all my life ( they were 3 years older than me!) where taken taken to the vet for the last time. Their quality of life had gone and although one was worse than the other, the decision was made that both should be put to sleep..................they were sisters and inseparable for 21 years and it was felt the other would just pine. I wasnt told until the end of week how- you- settling- in phone call. After the initial reaction I have a funny story of something I confessed to in that phone call........but maybe another time.

How strange I was only telling this story to my DD2 - an aspiring vet - this morning whilst waiting for own own furball to have his annual booster.

I am in tears now and am going to sit for a while in garden where all our beloved furries are buried

    Take care Piq

  • So sorry to hear about the Bear. You gave him a very good life and made the right decision for him at the end. It was a brave and difficult thing to do.
