    Hi Piq
Sorry to hear about the Bear - I wonder if Feliway might help him feel a bit better? It's a feline pheromone plug-in - do Google it, they have a website. My catto very sadly has an inoperable lump - he is now very bald (over grooming: think it started when he starting feeling not quite well ...) and very skinny. We take it one day at a time, and when he is not enjoying life any more I will get the vet and do the right thing by him. He has been a great companion through some very tough and difficult times. Anyway - last time I took him to the vet they gave me one of these Feliway plug ins - very hard to tell if it is working, but both my cats certainly seem relaxed! And purry, but then they always have been. You might ask the Bear if he would like to give it a whirl ....

Hello Bear very pleased you are taking the house work inspection so seriously but really honey discretion can be the best part of valour on occasion and especially with such matters for us girls. As long as you are eating all is good, do you like the feel of the bowl on your paws? About the 6am thing, humans can't cat nap through the day ... Might explain why Mum gets a bit grumpy?
Now we all know the V.E.T. can be a worry but better safe than sorry, hope the meds kick in soon x

Good morning Bear . Not sure if you are aware, but your slave is about all weekend so make sure you make the most of it ;).

    Hi Piq et al
So sorry to hear about the Bear - of course you are doing the right thing!

11lbs in 4 weeks - wow - way to go!

Things aren't great here at the moment, Dad very poorly in hospital, various things wrong, but has delirium from all the antibiotics he is taking! He is doing some very odd (funny - am I bad?) things!

Picked up my daughters young horse from the 'backers' yesterday - they had him for nearly 20 weeks and he has come back barely being able to trot round the school - apparently he is very stiff and then randomly broncs - goodnes knows where I go with that now! I am slightly miffed as it sounds from talking to them that they just carried on with their usual routine without trying anything new - bang goes £1750 I paid (they kept him for an extra 10 weeks for nothing!). He is a really well bred horse, his sire is Mill Law the top event stallion - but how long do I keep trying with him. Very despondent.

Anyway in the words of ...... Bananarama....... Cruel Summer! Couldn't resist!

    Fingers crossed for The Bear!

Noonar , your poor horse! Chuck it in a field and get its back checked might be bruising stopping him from flexing if he is tense and stresssed, let its brain de fry then just DIY I think if he trusts you. Might be a case of wait til spring but no harm really and I'd be getting a refund from the establishment ... Disgusting service!

Morning Piq and Bear are you enjoying the holiday?

Thanks cake! I've ordered a Feliway plug-in, hopefully, will be here after the bank holiday. He is calming down now, still pacing but much slower. He doesn't seem distressed, just restless and a bit confused, judging from the places he's getting stuck! He's completely lost his purr though, which makes me e
very sad. He used to start purring the moment I walked in the room.

Poor catto, I'm sure you're giving him the best time for his time remaining. It's the worst thing watching them to see if it's time though. I feel for you.

    Love to catto xxx

Really sorry to hear about your dad, Noo, I hope he gets better quickly. Very distressing for you.

I'd write a letter to the backers listing your concerns and offering video evidence. Certainly ask for the ten weeks money back and threaten small claims court. With his bloodlines trotting should come naturally! Then if you get the money, you can get a trainer to help you.

In the meantime, do lots of ground work with him, lunging and poles. It won't hurt and will build the bond between you all. It might help to have you riding him and your daughter calling out the gaits to him whilst you apply them, nothing to lose!

The weather's not so great this morning, almost got a chill in the air. Just right for tramping round the field looking for your cat....

I had a NSD yesterday which was great and I should have one today too! I spent a good part of the day with the Captain, not riding, but playing and grooming. Mind you the grooming was probably a waste of time bearing in mind the amount of rain we had. I'll be visiting the mud monster today, I'm sure. He's probably rolled from one end of the paddock to the other by now  He'll have the long mud dreadlocks instead of a white mane....

Cleared a bit more garden, I've got ivy growing up the wall and that's not easy to remove! I ought to get out there and clear a bit more....maybe later....

...and I ought to eb*y.....I have checked out the watches I want to sell and there's no bids on any that are on there already. I'm wondering if it's worth taking them into a jewellers and seeing if they'll give me a bulk price, like they do the gold.

    My diary by the Bear

Feeling a lot calmer now. I'm doing a fair bit of walking in circles and flicking my front paws. This is upsetting her, she says it's a sign of neurological damage [too much internet] What she doesn't know is that I'm rehearsing for that show that a stupid dog won last year. Can you believe anyone would vote for a dog??...Once they see me and hear my magnificent singing voice all other competitor might as well go home.

    I have pointed out to her that she needs to;
    a. dust behind the dining table
    b. leave a larger gap between the table leg and chair leg if I am not to get my head stuck

I quite fancy myself as Indiana Jones and thought I'd go on a couple of adventures. The first one I followed her almost all the way to the Post Office before she spotted me behind her and carried me home on top of her parcel - Stealth cat!

The second was when I found a gap in the fence and went exploring the field next door this morning. Tremendously exciting to crouch in the grass where she can't see me, then nonchalantly stroll out after about half an hour. She is spiteful though, don't think I haven't noticed the gap's been blocked by a piece of wood...

Still haven't used the litter tray, very proud of this, I've held on for at least fourteen hours. I'm not going to use it either, no matter how many times she chucks me in there....

    She says I don't purr anymore, don't I? did I? I don't remember....
