Oh Bear I do love your stories, glad you are feeling a bit calmer now, sounds like maybe the tablets are working. I would vote for you on that show too and don't understand why anyone would vote for a dog either.

  • Morning Piq,

I have so much to catch up on your diary its crazy. What a roller coaster of a few weeks you have been having .

I wont go into all the things that have been making you sad nad upset other than to say I think you are amazing, I always wanted to travel the world ( I did but not quite in the way I had planned) but was held back by family, I still am now infact. So what you are doing nad with a smile on your face too its wonderful. thats it, not saying anymore now, you know me I could be here a very long time !!

Love the Bears diary, I do hope he feels better soon. We have used a Feliway for "The Cat that shall not be NAmed" and he said it helped.

Are you sleeping better ? Its such a killer isnt it ? Have you tried K@lms Night time ? I think they work a bit back to front for me, I take them in the middle of the night when I have woken rather than before bedtime and they sometimes work, not always though but could be worth a try.

Bananas - how on earth can they have become the major talking point on this diary, its hilarious, but I have to say, some banana skins have been nestling nicely underneath my four previously dead bay trees (aka The Money Trees as they are affectionately known in the Pinot Household ) in my front garden for some weeks now ( not sure my snotty neighbours are impressed) and they are coming back to life !!! Who would have known these banans could have so many uses ?

    Ok I m going now................

I know you hate hugs but as I am so far behind with this diary, I am sending some anyway whether you like them or not !! xxxx:grouphug:

  • Me again, you cant get rid of me now !!

Had a quick G00gle, there are various people out there buying old watches. I didnt read them all, so I have no idea if they are any good or what sort of return you will get on the watches, but might be worth a look xx

Hiya Piq, I don't post very often but always read your diary.

So sorry about the Bear, his diary is sad & funny at the same time, I always get tears in my eyes when I read it :o

Anyway, I know the vet has said it's likely to be dementia, but I used to have a diabetic cat on insulin who used to wander around in circles, confused, get stuck etc. when her blood sugar went too low. I don't know if the vet would have tested the Bear's blood sugar levels, but thought I'd mention it anyway. xx

Morning Bear, well the V.E.T. meds may be positively impacting your life, and clearly you need to make sure the wandering does not become habit - there are the nasty humans in this world not all are like your adoring Mum.

Regarding the paws and circles, just make sure you are balanced and move in both directions, wouldn't want a banana shaped puss cat would we!

Piq - so glad you are having a good weekend, please do not stress about Bear - he will pick up on it and be unhappy. I am giggling at Doglet who is stood o the arm of a chair and the window sill growling at a pigeon trying to land on my flowering nutmeg - unsuccessfully as it is insufficient to support the great weight of a pigeon, so I am now going to have to go and chop the broken bits off (blinking birds). Oh well no rest for the wicked here think I have a long day ahead of me - and have to brave the wilds of T3sc0 YUK!

Hello Pink Poppy thank you for you reply. He doesn't have any of the other signs of diabetes, I do think it is dementia, unfortunately, speeded up by taking him to the vets in the first place....

I didn't have the blood tests done, the vet wanted to keep him in for every test imaginable. I know how distressing he finds the vet and didn't want to put him through any more trauma. It just makes him worse and seems to speed things along. So I made the decision he would be happier at home. Now I'm not so sure.

He is very confused and only wants to be with me. I will try to get him to sleep in the sunshine on the bed and find some way of blocking the stairs off, as he's very clumsy on them. It won't have to be a very high blockage as he can't jump any more.

I will ring the vet tomorrow.

Hiya Pinot, glad the banana skins are doing some good. I can't quite believe how they transformed my bay tree. It is a one bay tree house here, not nearly so posh as to have four!

DD flies out tomorrow, how quickly these things come round. She is so excited and who can blame her!

I'm not sleeping very well at the moment, silly cat and stuff. I'm sure I'll get back into it one day though.

Trying not to stress about Bear, but it's difficult, he's worse today.

Pigeons are not the brightest of birds are they? There are so many of them around now and they're huge. I didn't know you could get flowering nutmegs, I'm going to have to look them up now! Still, at least you've got one entertaining doglet.

I didn't have a NSD yesterday, spent £2 at a local fete. Went along with a friend from the yard and had a great time. There was a lot going on and it was a lovely sunny afternoon. I ate half a portion of chips :o and some shortbread :o I don't think that will have doomed the weight loss too much :D

I did, yet more, clearing of the garden and have now found the brick path that I had forgotten about. It winds its way to a bench under a very overgrown rose arbour. I've been clearing broken pots along the way. This is a mammoth task...

I really need to go shopping I have hardly any fruit or vegetables left. Dinner will be interesting tonight!

    My diary by the Bear

I didn't sleep well last night, she woke me up twice because she didn't like the position I was lying in. She said I looked like I had been garroted! How rude! I was lying with my head right back along my back, how's that for supple?

I'd already had two long sleeps just lying in her arms whilst she watched television. She is so comfortable and these days I really want to spend more time with her. If only she would sit down and pick me up.

I have the urge to stand with my head in the corner a lot, I don't know why, must be something in the water, maybe she's drugged my food!

Still not using the litter tray.....I walk over it and spread the litter as far as I can though, quite good fun.

Can you believe she's wiped me all over with baby wipes and that awful horse's wipes to boot!! Says I'm not grooming myself, that just waving my paws in front of my face doesn't count.
