I don't seem to be able to find the right words to let you know how sorry I am to hear this sad news. I enjoyed hearing of his final escapades and hope that in time you will be able to smile at the voice you gave him x

Oh Piq I am SO sorry. I can understand how in bits you must feel. It was the right thing for Bear, and you were strong enough to do the right thing, even when your heart must have been crying out no!
I too am in tears. I hope you can spend lots of time with the Captain so he can give consoling neighs and horsey kisses

So sorry to hear about bear, its never easy for us to make that hard decision, but given the same situation would have done exactly the same thing again, at least we can give them that final dignity.
