Oh Piq, I've not been on the site for a few days.... I'm so, so sorry to hear about the Bear. And it's really sad that your daughter isn't here to share your grief.
The milk churn is lovely and soooo fitting. It's not often I advocate non-essential spending, but BUY IT!
That's probably all the encouragement I needed, thank you! There are lots of lovely spring bulbs in £land, I've picked up some miniature tulips, grape hyacinths and narcissi, even if I don't put them in the Bear's milk churn I shall plant them nearby.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Morning Piq, your plans for the garden sounds lovely

What is it with horses being nosey and embarassing us, Baldrick used to wait till we found some nice unsuspecting old couple in the woods, waited till we said hello and then let out a massive fart :rotfl: he did this everytime, when we were on our own he was silent, lil git
Oh yes, horse farts.....very special....the Captain will look round at me in disgust when he lets rip with one, as if I did it!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Four bananas and four nectarines today. That's my breakfasts for the next four days sorted! I also brought home a Pr£t salad for my dinner. My break was so late it wasn't worth having lunch, I made do with a bag of nuts instead.
As already reported I spent £3 on bulbs in £land. I've done even more clearing of the back garden and will plant them up in pots near the house to brighten things up next spring.
I'm not at Pr£t tomorrow, so will look for jobs, hopefully, apply for a few. Clear the filing, do some more gardening and ride the Captain. Will also do some baking for the freezer and make another batch of soup, also for freezing.
I'm still sleeping badly, I'm going to have to risk a dose of the g*d-awful sleep elixir, maybe it will work this time!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Couple of days behind as usual but had to say .....BUY those milk churns !! They are great and so fitting by the sounds of it ! Going off on a tangent, I bought the girls a lovely milk glass each from T£ M@x last week, with the same logo on as the milk churns !
You have had me in fits of giggles with your story of the Captain and the Scratchy Bottom Man , you must have been mortified !! The Captain sounds worse than a child ! :rotfl::rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Just caught up with your diary, so sorry to hear about Bear, I know how you are feeling I lost my cat Katy age 22 on 4 Aug, she was showing the same signs as Bear, getting stuck under the coffee table, walking in circles and then her back legs went and she could not walk at all, and just lay on the rug, no purring and did not seem to recognise me, I had to take her to be put to sleep, it was awful. Buried her in my back garden and like you Im looking for a nice memorial stone or plant for her grave. Its very lonely and quiet here without her.
Take care and thinking of you.0 -

Thank you, I'm so sorry about your cat too. The heart-breaking bit for me was when he stopped purring. I'm glad you've got Katy home with you and hope that you find something for her grave. One of the plants I'm going to have for the Bear is a dianthus (pink) in a pink colour with a strong scent. If it is in pink it means love. A Rosemary bush stands for rememberence and lavender signifies devotion.
Take care.
