By the way, I see the sewer rats have been too busily engaged in creative retrospective editing of their past postings to spot this one on TMO’s drinks trolley:

    Hi Alpha,

You are not required to send the itemised pages of your bill. The top page of your bill will suffice.

    Hi,

As part of your first claim you need to include your original dispatch note and your first 4 bills. We do require the itemised section of your bills. At present we pay the majority of cash back instalments via cheque, but are in the process of moving to paying all cash backs by BACS. You will be notified via email as to how your payment will be processed approximately 2 weeks before it is due.

Any other queries, please do not hesitate to PM or email the Forum Query Team.

Shouldn’t you be sorting this out for TMO, “mar<”?

Don’t want you to lose that first cashback when you eventually come to claim it, do we!

Nor did you notice the Section 17.3 T&C infringement in Post #82, did you? :naughty:

Sadly (and expensively) for Shobet, I imagine that TMO has, by now. And I bet they just love him, poor guy.

Get to it, then “mar<”. :j

    Bye.

Cobra's trolling does show something that I spotted (sorry Cobra, I was sleeping rather than creatively editing posts; but yes, I did one in response to one of yours ;)), namely that TMO does appear to change the answers to its responses, maybe dependent on who is acting at TMO?

In a post on the other thread, TMO state that copy invoices are accepted, then above they ask for originals, as Cobra quotes they have asked for the whole bill but have also said the itemised bill is not required.

Maybe we could have a definitive FAQ from TMO put as a post to the beginning of this thread which should put all these contradictions to rest?

  • Well it's been 24 hours and guess what!

I have a replacement handset plus compensation for the time I was without it! I'm still awaiting the bluetooth headset but there is a note in with the phone saying it's it will follow shortly.

I must say I am pleasantly surprised at the speedy response I have had from the forum team. Hats off to them for sorting it out quickly and efficiently.

However I still find it a bit perplexing that I can get a response from The Mobile Outlet through a third party forum like moneysavingexpert and no resolution at all through their own communication channels. I would have thought heads should roll for performance like that.

Anyway I would recommend people to contact them through here as it does seem to get results.

Right I'm off to press lots of buttons on my new handset and sync the contacts from my address book again, oh the joy of using a Mac. ;)

  • Hi

As per my previous post I am now about to issue a "letter before action" to the mobile outlet giving them 7 days to give me my cashback otherwise I will start proceedings in the small claims court.

However, I'm not 100% sure who to claim against.

I've heard somewhere that the mobile outlet is just a trading name and that the company I need to claim against has a different title and address.

Can anyone provide me with the details of who I need to make the claim against please.

    Thanks

I've started filling out the forms on line, and I've stated The Mobile Outlet trading as Mobile Matters (UK) Ltd. and using the (usual) main address (sorry don't have it to hand) but it's the same for all correspondance.
    Good luck!

Shouldn't that be Mobile Matters (UK) Ltd. trading as The Mobile Outlet?

the cheque i received from them was from mobile matters.
and i thought they were a subsidy of CPW :/
  • Thanks for the information.

I'll claim against Mobile Matters (UK) t/a the mobile outlet then.

    One final point.

As I am stating they have broken the terms of their contract with me, can I claim for the whole 12 months cashback now or do I have to restrict my claim to this 1st claim that has been rejected?

    thanks

    Hi, Everyone,

(Do I need to wear a bulletproof helmet here or is it safe to stick my head above the parapet? Seems like there’s a lot of ordnance flying around.)

I bought a Sony Ericsson K750 phone online from TMO last September (the 17th) on Orange and it arrived by Royal Mail Special Delivery four days later. It works fine and I like it a lot.

My fourth bill (dated 19 January) arrived promptly from Orange and, after first making copies of all the documents involved, I sent off by Special Delivery my first cashback claim, with covering letter and all the correct paperwork (original invoices, all pages, original Dispatch Note, etc.) plus a stamped SAE for the return of the invoices.

Royal Mail confirmed that this was delivered on 30 January. (That would be the same date as GunJack’s claim, I guess.)

Unlike GunJack, I sent them no chaser but on 21 January (which was 22 days after TMO received my claim) my original invoices arrived back and on the same date I got an email from TMO advising me that my claim had “been successful” and that “Payment will be made by cheque or BACS within 28 days from the receipt date of your claim.”

That date (namely 27 February) has now passed and my cashback is overdue. Payment is made when the person to whom it is being made receives it. I haven’t received mine within the 28 days.

    (Has GunJack received his?)

Reading through both this thread and the former one about TMO, there seem to be differing opinions about how best to proceed when this happens. It runs the whole gamut from sending them begging letters (with or without cheeses) to sending in bailiffs.

What has been the most successful tactic when faced with this problem?

All advice will be welcome! (Preferably from those who have actually done it and succeeded!)

    Thank you.

    BrendaY.

E-mail the forum queries team with your order details at forumqueries@themobileoutlet.co.uk.

I have e-mailed them in the past and had a 24/48hr reponse from them, my first stage of cashback was 5/6 days late but I dont mind.

  • Hi

Just received some good news from the forum team:

    Hi,

There was a cheque raised yesterday which will be you in the next couple of days. There has been a back log in our admin department, but we have reviewed your terms and conditions and can confirm that the request for a dispatch note was not included with your application.

    Regards

Thanks for this response "forum team".

I'll post again when the cheque is received. Hopefully there won't be any problems with future cashback claims!

hope everyone else gets their problems resolved too.
