No, true, I know....but we've already had one creditor say that they won;t accept this new offer. Don;t really want the others pulling out as well cos we've had to lower it yet again.

Sorry have had a few days of abscense on here , but I am just reading through your last few days.

I will probably jsut echo the other sound advice you are already getting on here, but I would definately suggest that you go back to CCCs and ask them to review again. Bills have gone up, there is nothing you can do. Your DMP may be over 14 years, but there is a very strong likely hood that in the next 14 years your situation will change, you may find work etc and these things can be reviewed again regularly. My DMP I think , is over 20 years, yet all creditors have agreed for now to freeze interest. We dont make huge repayments ( considering the size of the debt ) yet we are managing to save a little now and still have a life, although not an extravagent one ! If you can ask them to review and still keep your sundries pot going, and possibly save a little even a few pounds here and there, you may have an opportuity to at some point in the future offer a full and final settlement. As has been said many times, they cant have what you havent got, but by using your sundries you are once again putting yourself back in a very vulnerable position. The whole idea of this is that you can live on the budget . The CCCS are there to assist you, I do really think you need to give them another call.

    Take Care xx

    Hello Rose,
Well, you are having a tough time right now and no mistake. :( {{hugs}}. I can only echo what the others have said - after all if you are experiencing changes beyond your control, others will be too, so I expect they've heard it before.
One day there will be a job for you and that will make a huge difference, so think of it as hanging on till then rather than 14 years.

Thanks folks - I shall chat with Mr BR about it although I already know what he'll say. He'll say that he doesn't want to reduce the repayments to CCCS.
    *sigh*
It's like, every time we start to feel settled, as though things are going right for a change, something comes along and we're back to square one again.

hello BR been stalking you too. Must admit that we started our dmp in 2008 and i still struggle with the budget from time to time. when we started we had 15 years of dmp payments. Now at 9 years cos our situation has changed. when we first started we were paying £205 a month and utter seemed endless.
go back and review with cccs. they are there to help you.
barclaycard may say no but while they are receiving your payments they won't have a leg to stand on. they froze our interest until we started paying more than the minimum but the interest rate they have no applied is minimal.

what Im trying to say is chin up chick. so many of your posts have struck a chord with me. L2B.x

Thanks Learning 2, welcome to my merry band x

I had a chat with Mr BR and he surprised me by saying that we should 'perhaps' give CCCS a ring and 'see what they say'.
I have had a realisation since last posting though, namely that £45 of the 'extra we have to find' is actually nothing of the sort, it's already in the CCCS as the water bill (which is what it is) but we've been having it in sundries for the last few months as we didn't have to pay it until May, so this means that we 'only' have to find about £20 a month

I'm just sick of not quite having enough money for anything, you know?
I'm struggling more than Mr BR is...he seems to be laid back about it all whereas I'm in a constant state of worry.
What I don;t like is when I talk about money, he kinda 'wilts' and I feel bad about having to bring the subject up...again.

I know exactly what you mean and I do understand. I think it takes a while to settle into the whole budget thing and we all fall off the wagon at times. We are still finding our feet as well, and have had good and bad months, particularly as our income is so erratic. I think us girls do worry more than the men, maybe its just in our make up, or maybe they do worry but just dont know how to show it really. Mr Pinot says that if didnt have a care in the world, I would still set about finding someone or something to worry about. You need to try and find other things to keep you busy , you are doing a great job over on the DMP Thread, a far better one than me, I rarely get a chance to go on there and people are very greatful for your advice. You need to focus that same advice you are giving others on yourself so that this debt situation isnt the only thing you think about and isnt the all consuming topic that it currently is. I spent about a year thinking of nothing else until finally one day it was a case of enough is enough, I was doing no one any good, incl myself and it had to stop. Am I rambling on again ?!! Sorry xxYou somehow need to find a way to switch off and get into the mindset that noone can have what you havent got. I know you have heard it thousands of times, but it is so true. If you havent got it, they cant havent and thats the way it is. As far as the term of the DMP goes, its along time yes, but situations change, these things arent set in stone . You will get this sorted BR, you have to stay positive. xx
Tell me to shut up now if you like, I can take it !!! :rotfl:

No, thanks hon, I need as many of these sorts of posts as I can get.

We woke up, though, to part of the (very old) fence having been blown down in the wind last night - and the son of our next door neighbour is rather fierce and so when he notices he's bound to be round, grumbling about it.
