Well, we have to make a choice about our Gas and Electric tomorrow..we've been offered a fixed gas price fixed until 2015 which I think we'll go for as, although it's a little more pricey than their standard tariff it'll mean that the price won't change (although the DD per month will depend upon our usage, obviously). We looked at a comparison site and it actually gave us the same supplier although a slightly different deal (fixed for one year) but we're thinking that it might be more expensive by this time next year. Our LBM: Dec 2011. Oh, brilliant (not)
Got a letter from CCCS today saying that Barclaycard (who had been fine) have now refused the new offer of payment from CCCS. If you remember, we had to reduce our payments to CCCS recently as our budget was too tight and we were struggling, well it seems that Barclaycard don't want the new offer. We haven't had communication of them as yet, or indeed from any other creditor about the new offer, but I'd though it was going so well...Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Well they can't take what you don't have... CCCS will have done it all fairly and properly so balls to Barclaycard.
I had/have exactly the same problem with Natwest. Still fighting them 2 years on.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Yeah it's weird, I can't decide whether to be bothered or not.
I think it's the fact that they'd been fine before and now we've had to reduce the payments they're now not prepared to accept it.
What was your reaction to Natwest, did you send them a letter at the time or did you ignore it?Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

I sent them half a dozen letters telling them I was on a dmp and asking them to stop charges and interest, and to close our joint account etc, and they were all ignored until I put in an official complaint. When that happened they finally acknowledged the dmp but then refused the payments saying it wasn't a fair split (as they'd been adding charges of £44 a month to the balance, which wasn't covered by the payments they were receiving). I'm currently in the process of writing to them to request a current balance, to see if they are still charging me - but it looks like it might have to be another complaint to be honest. That seems to be the only way they will do anything - if you complain and threaten with fsa.Ninja Saving Turtle0

I think we'll wait until we get something from Barclaycard themselves before we actually write to them, but I think it's highly unfair of the, to refuse thins new reduced payment - what do they think's going to happen, we're going to suddenly produce piles of cash for them?
Of course, I'm I'm worried that others will now refuse as wellOur LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Dont worry as you have said they cant have what you haven't got.
I know with my DMP initially they who shall not be named:mad: were always refusing but I think they realised the answer no isn't always the best one and doesn't help resolve things
At the end of the day we are willing to repay our debts just not prepared to get ourselves into more trouble in order to do it.
Chin up honey and see what happens

Being on a DMP does have it's ups and downs and it is hard to adjust to working within a budget at first etc. etc. I have to share with you something that has helped me to feel that bit pampered and special without breaking the bank. I have started going to our local college where the students run a beauty salon.... it doesn't cost the earth but I get an hour's worth of pampering, relax and chat with the girls there and come out feeling good as well... tonight I'm having my eyebrows tinted and shaped for £3 so I don't feel guilty about spending that little bit of money and it takes away the urges to go and splash out on other things (not that we can anyway):) If you've got a college close by it might be worth looking into (I'm even having my hair cut there now and saving around £40 a time;))

I expect they try to get more out of you in the hope there's more to be had - but if you need it to live on, they can't have it. Full stop.
Ellie, I know of a College with a similar scheme. I've never heard of anyone being displeased with the result, either!Miggy

Thanks, that might be something to look into although I've never been one for spending money on myself. Me doing that would cost *more* money than I currently spend on me!Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
