Yeah, the thought did occur to me actually. My fear is that we might have a DD due out - we haven't checked.
Right, we've now checked the account again and we're still in credit (£30) so I assume that DD won;t be going out over the weekend eitherOur LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Phew, well Mr Br's wages have gone in today!
Already he's taken £50 to put in the car and it didn't even take it up to half full!! *sigh*
We need to keep as much 'sundry' money as possible this month as we have that long trip to do at the end of the month (before payday). We had some money left last month (just as well really) and so we're going to take that out and also £50 from this month as 'spare' petrol money for the trip.
I've not had a brilliant weekend, I've had to turn down a couple of things cos we couldn't afford it, the weather's been lovely but we couldn't go anywhere due to having no petrol and I just got cheesed off by everything. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

I seem to be having a hard time of this - finding it very difficult to pull myself back up.
I said to Mr BR last night that I feel that I'm not in control of my own destiny or life. I feel that the money is controlling, it controls what we can and can't do, where we can and can't go, what we can and can't buy etc etc.
Mr BR said that he didn't feel that way, he feels more in control than he's done for years and that we should look at it all in a positive way and not allow it to control us and take charge and think of it as a challenge.
Perhaps it's because I'm the one who crunches the numbers..I get to see how little we have and how expensive things are and although I tell him too, it's not as immediate for him.
Help...how do I get back to being the me he fell in love with? I'm just not that person, I'm down a lot, cry a lot and it's just not who I am..Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

BR, sometimes you just have to work your way through these stages, you're right because you're the one who does all the books for your household you do get affected by it more, but by the same token you are in control of it.
yes it's restricting what you can do BUT you are in control of reducing your debt, try and think about what your situation would have been like if you hadn't made the steps you've made, things would be a lot worse, even if on the surface you may have felt better, i would only be fleeting before worry, stress and guilt kicked in.
sending you hugs because you sound like you need them0 -
Hi Blushing Rose.
Just stopping by to say you are doing really well.
Money left at the end of the month.
No more dreaded credit added.
You have planned ahead for this coming month.
This is hopefully how my life will take shape.

Br, I have been reading through your last few posts and have just written you the longest ramble ever, but then I was worried it looked like nagging or bossiness, so I have deleted it all so will now settle for a simple : -
You are in control of this, the budgeting is tough but it will get easier. You probably have figures swimming around in your head at all times of the day and night if you are anything like me and you are bound to have blips and set backs, but they are to be expected and you will work through them. Youve surely read some of my flip outs ! Mr BR hasnt had the same dealings with the finances as you or putting all of this into place so therefore it probably isnt as all consuming as him. There is light at the end of the tunnel, ok it may be a long hard slog, but you are only young ( at least I think you are, I'm sure I read that) . What you are doing now is all part of a masterplan to build a better debt free future for you and Mr BR. Just remember back to the lady on the Support Threads not so long ago, who was terrfied , and look at you now, offering advice to other people ! You really are doing so well. Please remember this !
You are doing great, we are all here for you and understand your worries. Lots of hugs coming your way ( I cant find the huggy smilie !) xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Thanks, I hear you're saying although at 42 I'm not sure I qualify as young..

Hi Mrs BR
Hope you don't mind I have subscribed
I have been starting to read your diary from the beginning (was on my phone on the train in the mornings so you made need to bear with me as I catch up)
Whats that old saying you are as young as you feel (or the man you feel whichever is the younger):rotfl:
I know exactly where you are coming from, I am a little older than you and when my daughter made me a nana last year ( I was thrillled with DGS) I thought life had really passed me by.
All of us on this journey struggle with the positives from time to time. I think I have said before how I hate it when I cant go out or buy nice things when younger ones at work seem to have the life of Riley.
Then I stop and think maybe they are building up a debt nightmare but I am sorting mine so that by the time I really am old (not too long now:rotfl:) I will enjoy life a bit more.
Chin up honey the sun is shining and we are still here
Take care
