    I've been Money Tipped!
I guess the groom should think himself lucky that he get an invite, hey?!

Haha out of context quote - I meant in terms of bm dress shopping which my OH has had nothing to do with - he doesn't even know what they are wearing :D And some days yes I think he should think himself lucky :rotfl:

Glad you have found something useful OP.

I am a size 14 and if someone made me wear a pale pink tight and clingy dress I would have to have a little cry I think.... I'm not fussy and I would be happy to try almost anything but that would make me look grim. If I was the bride I would not want to do that to a friend and also would not want my bridesmaids looking like a squashed sausage in my pictures.
I hope you manage to find a nice compromise.
Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.
  • I would say the best thing you could probably do is go shopping with both of your bridesmaids together even if you don't plan on buying anything. This would give you a chance to see how different styles and colours look on your bridesmaids. You may love the look of the first dress on the model but hate it when it is on your bridesmaids.

Just remember the number of times you have seen the most gorgeous dress and then put it on the find out you look like you're wearing some curtains fashioned into a tent. Try things on find a style you all like, find a colour you all like and then hit the net to find them both in the same dress at a price you like.

even if they had to pay for it though, which the op's did. All the bm asked for really was something she could wear again, which as she was paying for it I did not think was a bad request. It is only as thread has progressed that the op has said she 'could' buy the dress if it would help.

With an attitude like that I'm amazed you have anyone coming to your wedding.

Whatever happened to a wedding being about the bride and groom making a public commitment to each other? Do you think anyone cares what the bridesmaids are wearing? Mine could have turned up in jeans if she'd wanted to. It wasn't about her outfit!
Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

I can understand both points of view. I want my BMs to look nice, but dont want them to feel uncomfortable. They OP's first dress is gorgeous, but I'm size 14 and if I was required to wear it I would defo feel like I would need to slim down for it to look good on me.

I agree with a previous poster who suggested going shopping with both BMs if thats possible to get a feel of what they would both be comfortable in. Then you could go from there and find something they would like.

Its ok, its been a bit of a long thread :rotfl: both bm's were paying for their own dresses. The size 20 bm asked if it could be a dress she could wear again and not strapless. The op then picked the pink dress we have all been talking about, bm said she hated it and gave her ideas of dresses she was happy paying for. Hence thread. I think ha ha, it has had a few twists, the op has now sold something on ebay and says she 'could' use that money to buy the dress if she has to. 4pages condensed to what I think is the situ:rotfl:
