I have experimented with several brushes and always go back to use the free one with the L'oreal mineral make up. I've given up putting my make up on in the bathroom (it's white) and rely on the old pillowcase to protect my clothes.

If I tap too much powder off it doesn't give the coverage I need . Some are blessed with good skin but I need all sorts of products to camouflage mine. Give me wrinkles instead of acne rosecea any day.

Thanks, I will continue to read this thread.

Oh I've got the redness alright! And do suffer, or did, with acne rosecea. My nose is a lovely shade of crimson... I find it is all practice etc., I often have to go back ten mins later and do another bit on my nose. I try and use a colour that is darker than most of my face but lighter than the red strip down the middle!

Sometimes I do a light fluff over on the redder bits first and then go back later and do the rest - often depends on what mood I'm in, whether its the weekend and have more time or if I am rushing for work.... I am a bit slap dash in my approach, but somehow it seems to work!

I need a heavy coverage as well - well over my t zone at least

Heres how I do it. I squidge the brush tight and dip the tip in the mineral, then move to my tea bag dish and tap the whole lot off the brush into the dish. I can see right away if Ive picked up too much so tap some to the edge and then just swirl up what I need to use.

Whatever is left in the dish is easy tipped back or if its just a small amount I just work that into my brush to use the following day

Give it a try. The bigger area to work in means less blowing up in the air and landing everywhere
  • I use Maybelline Pure Minerals Foundation and its fantastic, I have greasy skin and it seems to work great and stays put all day! x

This Morning tv show had their make up expert demonstrating the latest foundations and I'm tempted to buy the Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation. Doesn't look messy to apply (see my earlier posting and believe me I still haven't perfected it) and comes with a brush.

Have any of you tried this yet?

  • Hi, try watching QVC for good mineral make-up demos. Freeview channel 16. You don't have to buy from them but some of their make-up combo's are very well priced. Good luck. x
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

Be aware that this is not a mineral foundation, rather a foundation with some minerals added to jump on the bandwagon
  • Quick bit of advice please... want to get some EB samples, but don't know if I want healing or soft foundation???
Als not sure which colours to try. I have olive skin, medium brown hair and brown eyes (although very blonde white family!!!). I don't look exotically-dark, but I'm never pale. If that makes sense!!!

Can I suggest that you call (or email) Nicola at EB? She is sooooo brilliant and has helped and advised all of us (well most..) she has always come up trumps for me. I wouldn't use anything else.

I use the healing one mostly - that is because I have totally neurotic skin and it has the allantoin in it which is the healing bit and puts a barrier on the skin really. I work in an environment which is cr4p for the skin, so I do all I can to not aggravate it! Call Nicola!

I too use the healing foundation because I too USED to have sensitive skin ( its no where near as bad since changing to this brand)

I can use Kitten, sand, beige and bunny. I have an yellow toned skin which catches catches colour very quickly, brown hair and blue eyes if that helps. But the samples are so cheap its worth ordering a good few. I think I ordered about 10 together and used most of them - with many samples lasting weeks. So still very MSE :)
