can someone help me on this too please? Ive read the other thread til my head spins and looked at the Bare Escentuals ads but there are so many types and stuff. Can someone just tell me please whether the Bare Minerals Bisque would be suitable for a light skin (50 odd year old skin) as an alternative to my usual Clarins foundation liquid? Id like something to cover some dark circles under my eyes and also a few scars (from electrolysis !!:() but I dont want to look like Im appearing on stage.
But reading the sites for these minerals Im not sure what I should be buying as an alternative to my normal foundation? Please?
I love the elemental beauty "bright eyes" & their healing concealer.
Both a tiny pots of powder.
I put my sheer foundation on & then I use the bright eyes (don't bother for work) & the concealer (if I need it) & then loose powder over.
I'm 41:o
Google elemental beauty, its nice stuff.
Their loose powder is nice too (I bought a sample pot), I might get a full sized when my Laura Mercier runs out;)0 -

First of Bisque and summer bisque are concealers and/or eyeshadows.
If you are looking at Bare Escentuals, you wont go far wrong by looking at https://www.qvcuk.com They are the biggest retailers of it in the uk and if you look under beauty - bare escentuals, you will find some great video clips explaining the range of products and advice on how best to get a colour match.
The best thing about the range is you dont need an exact match - I personally use fairly light, beige and medium beige - all of them work on me.
Once you get an idea of what you would like to try then either buy a kit from there as they have a 30 day money back gaurentee or go look on ebay for people who sell samples.
Elemental Beauty is a very good range as well and the sample sizes are pennies and last weeks and are worth getting to try ( I prefer the EB range over BE)0 -
Thanks everyone. So I put on my pure and protect Boots stuff, then my moisturiser and then I use this mineral stuff just like Id use my normal foundation? So do I use one for everything or do I have to use different ones for different bits of my face (sorry for being thick here). I saw you have to buy the rather expensive brushes for it.0

Just wanted to say that Nicola at EB is truly a star - i ordered some and the colour was not quite right so she sent me some samples which i added and then totally cocked it all up by adding too much:p
She sent me some more and gave me so much advice - she always answered emails really fast and was so patient with me.
I have the mineral powder, concealer, blusher, finnishing powder and 4 eye powders and they are all great. It's not paranoia if they really are after you.0 -
So it sounds like I could ring that girl, explain the problems and so on and she could help me choose?
Ill ring her tomorrow. Can you email her a piccy of yourself for help in choosing the colours as Im not too good at describing stuff?0 -

Use your serum and then moisturise and let sink in as long as possible.I always bot with a tissue before applying mineral foundation as you really do need a dry face
You only need one foundation as any other make up range. I have loads as I ve worked through so many ranges - what suits one wont suit another, I also use a mineral bronzer, mineral blusher and mineral finishing powder
Brushes dont need to be expensive. I have the ELF kabuki which is as good as any and was just a couple of pounds. The EB brushes are also good value. If you have bad enough skin that you want a heavier coverage then you might want the kabuki, otherwise juat the flawless face brushes are enough0 -
Thank you for your advice. It might be the moisturiser so I'll try waiting a little longer for it to sink in. Not too patient in a morning!
Most foundations tend to slide right off my face so I have been using translucent face powder only; I like the minerals as they still look natural but give a tad more coverage.0 -

Oh - you'll love the packaging too! You feel like its your birthday when you receive it! I can't see how pressed would work with this product, but hey, I'm willing to find out!
Hi jeannieblue, yes I've followed your story on the thread about the problems you had with your skin. So pleased it's much better now.
Can't wait for my EB to arrive !0 -

No you're not:rolleyes:
I wish you would stop butting in my threads Gran:)0
