The classic "swirl, tap and buff" technique. :D

Jostenning - not the Avon, I believe it's a bit heavy and there are not enough colours. Very fair-skinned ladies seem to be more likely to take time to find a good match, from what I've read over the years. As the Elemental Beauty is getting such good reviews from users here, why not go for samples of that? Or indeed, the Body Shop one, where you can actually look at and possibly try it out, and the perfect brush is right there, so we're told :)

thanks veronarona - where can you get the EB free samples? What colours would be best to request?

Jos, Im a lot older than you and had my first professional facial only 2 years ago. I was amazed that you dont actually have to put up with blackheads and open pores, you can cure them! Get yourself booked in for just one facial and then keep up the routine, it only takes minutes. I put on my cleanser and then brush my teeth, then wipe the cleanser off, use a toner and then bung on the Protect and Perfect serum followed by a moisturiser.

I dont like Clarins myself - Ive been using the Boots No. 7 range and Olay which seems to suit me. I also like the Boots dermabrasion creme which seems to polish your skin so its as smooth as a babys bot.
  • My sister in law got me the Dead Sea skin set from The Clothes Show for Christmas - it's got the exfoliater tool and things like that, have been using it but must stick to my routine more regularly - lol, I don't know what's so difficult - as you said it's only a few minutes out of the day.

I think I will try getting the skin in best possible condition before using the mineral make up so it will have maximum effect.

I could still send for the samples in the meantime - is there a link to EB?

    thanks

To find the sample sizes just click through to the main product. Sample sizes aren't officially available for some products (eg concealers) but if you ask you'll normally find that Nicola will offer to send you samples of those anyway.

For the excess oil production I can reccomend the OCM. Ive gone from producing enough oil to keep a small country running to just getting a bit of a glow happening on the T zone.

Reducing your oil production will see an improvement in your pores and you should find blackheads are a thing of the past.

Having oily skin you need to keep your products as gentle as possible and avoid any containing alcohol like the plague. That just strips your skin and you skin ritaliates by producing more oil.

EB minerals do have a good selection of light colours - you just need to decide if you are a pink tone or yellow tone really. Other then that mineral make up is very forgiving and tones in well

Exciting isnt it. Im a bit worried the high streets will see a lot of women looking like something out of a renaissance costume drama - lol. Im sure we will get the hang of it with practice
  • My stuff arrived this morning. :)

Looks like the English Rose is pretty much perfect. I'll try them out for a few days to make sure but I think I'll be ordering that and the Dewy finishing powder. The eyeshadow colours are lovely, and they're all sparkly.

All came in a lovely little box with tissue paper and tied up with a pink ribbon. I almost didn't want to open it, lol.

Edit: Oooh, I have a star under my name now. Guess that means I'm addicted to this forum. ;)
