Have you had a go yet faded? Im still waiting for my samples but at the moment Im confused by it all.
  • I tried them all this evening. Barley is too dark, Nude is too yellow, but English Rose is just right. The Radiance finishing powder isn't as dark and glittery on as it looks in the vial - it actually works quite well as a bronzer (and doesn't look too dark/orange on me, which is always a plus). Definitely prefer the Dewy for general everyday use though - aside from the couple of icky spots I have on my chin (haven't quite got the hang of the concealer yet), the combination of that and the English Rose made my skin look really even and radiant, but still natural. Very pleased so far. :)

I think it's great! I've only used one brand really, "Lily Lolo" http://www.lilylolo.co.uk/home.php

They do cheap samples, enough to use for a week or so at least.

I would say that mineral stuff takes a bit of getting used to, and I think trial and error with different brands is probably needed.

Bare escensuals for example, make quite shiny foundations, (no good for me) but I've recently discovered their finishing powder, and it makes my skin look so much better! really velvety!

also, RE: the built in sunscreen, you would have to put it on very thick for that to be totally effective. Anyway, if you're as pale and sunburn prone as me, you'll be glad of that extra bit of spf!

The only thing I haven't managed to get the hang of is mineral concealer. any tips?

Ive just sent off for some samples...they look great on the site!

To find the sample sizes just click through to the main product. Sample sizes aren't officially available for some products (eg concealers) but if you ask you'll normally find that Nicola will offer to send you samples of those anyway.

Ive just ordered samples of the English Rose and Dewy finish. Also 3 new brushes, which needed anyway, and they looked good on that site.

Could anyone recommend any reasonably priced Cleanser,Toner & Moisturiser which would be suitable for very sensitive, fair skin.... please?

    Hiya
I use the Bare Escentuals mineral make-up and I love it. It is a wee bit more expensive than Avon and Boots etc but it lasts for absolutely ages. It is so simple to put on and you really dont feel like you are wearing any make-up and you don't look made up either if you know what I mean. BUT when you take it off its only then that I see, oh yes, it does make a difference - you see the difference when you take it off if you know what I mean - in other words you dont feel made up and dont feel like you are wearing make-up but when you take it off you see that you looked much better before you washed your face! LOL. You can get it off Ebay direct from America much cheaper than buying it here, but on the other hand you can get it from QVC in quite good starter kits and they have the 30 day money back guarantee if you find its not for you. HOwever I have sensitive skin and it does not irritate me in any way. I absolutely would not use anything else now. HOpe this helps.

To mely looking for a toner etc - have you tried Liz Earle's range - I love her cleanse and polish - again you can get this from QVC with their 30 day money back guarantee. It's great for sensitive skin and has won lots of awards.

BE is well covered in this 'jynormous' thread :) They were the first MMU brand to get exposure in the UK, because of QVC, I guess. Quite a few of us have tried it, but unfortunately the bismuth oxychloride in it causes irritiation - like a prickling sensation on the skin, in my case. I was disappointed when I had to stop using it because it gave my skin a terrific finish - except for the pinprick pores it highlighted on my nose.

But if it suits you, it's great!
