    OFF TOPIC:
Jeannie, I haven't had a fag for nearly 3 months :T Been "smoking" electronic ones instead of Golden Virginia. Skin's not much different but it's early days and of course I'm old. Someone in my e-cig group told me there's a thread here so I posted a link to our group in it but didn't seem to get much response, I'm surprised and disappointed. Fifty years an incorrigible smoker and e-cigs have done it for me!

    CONGRATULATIONS:beer::j:beer::j:j:T:T:T:T:T

Keep at it and I promise you you will see a difference in your skin. Ive just completed my first year without a cigarette since I was 11 and my skin is looking the best its ever done - no longer hidden under a yellow hue

  • Avon's statement actually translates as "There are some minerals in this, and they are 100% pure". Avon do not reveal the complete ingredients list, just "key" ingredients

Suki, thanks so much, I really appreciate the fanfare - sometimes I forget myself what a miracle this is!

Thanks for all your replies.. Have read the other thread from start to finish.

I must just be an oddity - everyone on that thread loves mineral makeup.

I think to be honest; rather than it looking rubbish its just not my style. My skin is even and blemish free and i like my make up to be completely flat like a masque almost. Sounds rubbish but i know what i mean. The MM i've tried all gives a natural finish i guess. To me natural = naked.

Also i have super dry skin and find it comfier to apply foundation when my super rich moisteriser is still tacky. Reading this seams a big no no in MM.

Thanks again for all you help.

amyb, I think we must have been separated at birth.:rotfl: I cannot get on with the mineral make-up either and prefer the moistness of foundation (Max Factor Colour Adapt - snap!). I watched the youtube video and cannot believe how long it took just to put the basic colour on. I will put my purchase of mineral make-up down as an expensive mistake and stick to the tried and tested.
  • im not a fan either, i use revlon skinlights in bare as it looks fresh and oh allways comments on how healthy i look...he dont know its makeup:rotfl:

Dont forget that video is over long because shes going step by step and explaining every process and the whys and wherefores. I can do complete face in about 2 mins flat - if that

And yes mineral make up doesnt give a made up look - just makes you look better, healthier, fresher. As one brand advertise - "let your natural beauty shine" :D

Think I spend about a minute........... not necessarily good, but its always a rush in the mornings - I don't top up during day either - not necessarily good either, its just lifestyle, don't have the time. But I don't get the nasty skin or spots anymore - which took ages to cover!

  • I bought the No7 mineral foundation this week as part of their 3 for 4. I really like the feel of it, but the colour's not quite right. It's a bit yellow - my skin is really pale with pink undertones. After reading through this entire thread, I think something along the lines of Elemental Beauty's English Rose might be more my thing. I've sent an email to ask if there are any other shades they suggest I should try too and advice on concealer shades.

Some of their eyeshadows look gorgeous, I'll have to order a few of those when I order my foundation samples.

Your skin sounds like mine and English Rose is perfect for me. The Fairly Light concealer is nearly perfect - it looks a bit dark when it goes on but not after I've blended it in. Bright Eyes concealer is good under the eyes but too yellow for covering blemishes on my face.

can someone help me on this too please? Ive read the other thread til my head spins and looked at the Bare Escentuals ads but there are so many types and stuff. Can someone just tell me please whether the Bare Minerals Bisque would be suitable for a light skin (50 odd year old skin) as an alternative to my usual Clarins foundation liquid? Id like something to cover some dark circles under my eyes and also a few scars (from electrolysis !!:() but I dont want to look like Im appearing on stage.

But reading the sites for these minerals Im not sure what I should be buying as an alternative to my normal foundation? Please?
