Just found out how to THANK. I don't know where I was looking before!!
Genie - I know what you mean about the pressed powder. I always had a nice skin, but wanted the airbrushed look and didn't want make-up and powder as it requires according to magazines, so went for the compromise with the pressed powder applied with sponge thinking that it will look better then just powder and won't be as heavy as liquid make up. And guess what!! I have lots of tiny spots mainly on my chin and on my forehead which are below skin and not doing anything except to discolour my skin tone!

If it doesn't work I will order the EB, but I couldn't find on the website how to order just samples.
If you go to the list of full-size ones, then click on "Read More" against the item you want, it gives you all the options including the sample sizes which are 55p each plus VAT.

The sample sizes are available for foundations and powders - not for concealers. However, when I emailed EB to ask advice on which shades to choose, Nicola said she would include a couple of small concealer samples free of charge with my order :T It cost me £13.something for four foundation samples, two powder samples, a concealer brush (this was the expensive bit of the order) VAT and delivery.

The only slightly confusing thing on the EB website is that the full size products are advertised inc VAT, while the samples are shown exc VAT. It all makes sense once you add them to your shopping basket, however :)

  • I've tried lilylolo samples. Unfortunately they made my skin itch and feel tight. Also their lightest shade of foundation was too light and the one a shade darker was too dark. I had to mix them both together to get the correct shade. Would be too expensive and fiddly to do this on a daily basis. Apart from that it was long lasting and gave a natural finish.

Racheljessica - might be talking complete bull as I'm a mineral newbie myself, but I'm sure somebody will correct me if I am :D The itchy thing is bismuth, and not all ranges contain it - Elemental Beauty doesn't. As regards mixing foundations for the right shade, EB will help you find a custom blend if one of their standard colours doesn't work for you :T

(I am in no way affiliated to EB, but their customer service is fantastic).

Made me itch as well :(

BE doesnt make me itch as such just a slight general "not quite right" feel

    EB - lovely

Mioww - nice but not the right coverage

When I put Bare Escentuals into google, it only comes with distributors and not with the direct website, so that might be why I cannot order just samples. Anyone has got the direct website's address?

Which one would you vote the best make everyone?

Bare Escentuals, Elemental Beauty or Lilylolo??

You can't order samples of BE, or from BE unless you are in the States. ;)

    I prefer BE personally. ;)

I have to mix shades, but don't do it every day :rotfl:

I mix the 2 shades together with some mineral veil in a spare large sifter jar and then just use that. ;)

You can order samples from Everyday Minerals. I did so based on recommendations on this site and I really like their products. I have BE already, but find that I tend to use EM more often. Good coverage, good texture, and lovely finish.

Samples are free, you only have to pay for postage, which is about 5 USD.
