When I put Bare Escentuals into google, it only comes with distributors and not with the direct website, so that might be why I cannot order just samples. Anyone has got the direct website's address?
Which one would you vote the best make everyone?
Bare Escentuals, Elemental Beauty or Lilylolo??[/quote
You should know by now that I am an EB convert. I have very temperamental skin and for the first time in ............years, I have something doesn't aggravate and makes me look better! Ok, I suppose a plastic surgeon could help...Genie

How long does it usually take to arrive?

If you selected first class post (or first class Recorded Delivery) it should be with you next day or the day after, subject to the usual vagaries of the UK postal service!
Mine turned up the day after they were postedOperation Get in Shape

You can order samples from Everyday Minerals. I did so based on recommendations on this site and I really like their products. I have BE already, but find that I tend to use EM more often. Good coverage, good texture, and lovely finish.
Samples are free, you only have to pay for postage, which is about 5 USD.
I've been on their websites and they want $2.50 for samples now:-( That is the most expensive of all the makes mentioned here.. I'll try EB as well as Lilylolo and if they fail, then I order some EM.;)0 -

What questions shall I be prepared to answer when I call Nicola? I am affraid I cannot realy described my skin! on EB websites they say "if veins on your wrist are green then you are warm and if they are blue you are cold type", but mine are purple!! I know, now I am just being difficult...:p0 -
OK, this is a copy of what I emailed to Nicola:I'm new to minerals but have read good unofficial reviews of your products and am looking to order some products from you. I hope you can advise on what I should order.
I'm looking for foundation, concealer and finishing powder. I am 30 with a very fair, pink-toned complexion with a tendency to shine and occasional redness. I also suffer from fairly mild acne and dark circles under my eyes.
The first draft of my shopping list is as follows:
1 x sample Healing foundation in English Rose
1 x concealer in Colour Corrector
1 x other concealer (Bright Eyes or Fairly Light)
1 x sample finishing powder in Dewy
1 x sample finishing powder in Matt
Which concealer(s) would you suggest (bearing in mind I'm looking to brighten my under-eye area AND blemishes, as well as to combat redness), and which other foundation samples? I was also wondering whether I should try foundation in Nude, Barley and possibly Bunny, as well as just English Rose?
I already have a kabuki brush but I think I'll probably just need a concealer brush too.
I would welcome your advice on the above and look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Hope this helps!Operation Get in Shape

Within 4 hours I received a response from Nicola giving detailed recommendations as to which colours she thought would be worth a try.
Hope this helps!
Now I might sound like complete idiot, but how do you know you have pinky skin? And how do you know you are fair? Any indicators please?0 -
Well I know I'm fair because practically every foundation I've ever tried, even the lightest one in a particular range, is darker than my natural skin tone. And I know I'm "pinky" because practically every foundation I've ever tried has given a yellow tinge to my skin which looks completely wrong for it.
I also know I'm "pinky" because I've got a natural pink flush in my cheeks - classic "English Rose" colouring. I also have the blue wrist vein thing, though I wouldn't have thought of checking that way.
I've never had a suntan in my life, not even after burning a bit. I either go a bit pink or stay white and pasty.
If in doubt, you're probably yellow-toned. Most people are - and that's why most foundations cater for themIMHO, if you were pink-toned you'd know about it, cos you'd have been spending your whole life looking for a foundation that wasn't yellow
Give us a clue. What foundation (and in what shade) are you wearing at the moment? And do you think it's the right shade for you?
Also, have you looked at the range of shades available on the EB website? Have you seen any which you think might be right for you?Operation Get in Shape

I pick foundation by going to the shop and put it on my hand and which one is the least recognizable from my own skin colour I take. Not much help I am affraid:D
I use Max Factor 102 Pastelle liquid foundation most of the year (if I go out). In the summer I don't wear any as I tan very easily and usualy have a good skin that doesn't need foundation during the summer.0
