I buy my mineral makeup from Southern Magnolia Minerals via Ebay like one of the previous posters. I initially bought a starter kit and I have just re-ordered some mineral foundation refills to insert in the little pot. Works out much cheaper than buying L'Oreal's mineral foundation - which I did when it first came out on special offer. The only thing I'm worrying about now is if I'll have to pay import duty - although I believe the bill only came to just over £15 for two bags of 6 tsps each of mineral powder so I should be OK!

One of two things spring to mind Genie, either too much being used or really the wrong colour.

I done my whole face yesterday and it lasted - without loading my brush at all.

Do start on the outside of your face and work in. I always tend to do eye area last when there's not a lot left on the brush and what is there is warm and easily worked.

As for colour, While my face was in full break out mode I was using the "sand" which is a very yellow based colour. Ive now changed to a more pink based colour which is looking a lot better and not showing in my fine lines (dont have deep ones yet) which the sand was doing

Some of my lines are getting a tad deep :(:(:(:(

I remember someone saying that you apply ............. before the foundation or ............. after it. But b*ggered if can remember what.

I must say that I am getting alot better at applying it. Its not itching me at all - I'm confining the concealer to use at weekends only at the moment cos can't quite get it right, but the healing foundation is lovely and covers well - when I get it right.

My skin is alot better on my face - but my ezcema is flaring up over other parts of my body - but as they can't be seen, I'm not that bothered. Except when I wake up in the night clawing myself......

I'm crawling off to bed shortly, and hopefully will go through the threads a bit more tomorrow night. Its either on this one or the sheer cover one. There is definitely something you apply to stop it settling in the lines.......

I applied it a bit better today - tried to put less near the 'crevasses' and it seemed to work.

I've not had time to look thru the threads for the 'anti' line stuff - but know it is there somewhere!!

Bit of a flare up going on tonight which confirms to me that stress is the factor in all this - for me anyway. Thanks to a blasted company called T3 Direct and 3 phone provider - and spending an hour on the phone to 3 tonight, cutting into my lovely evening that wasn't, skin has gone mental. Will put the minerals on with a trowel tomorrow.

Not sure of etiquette - but please feel free any of you to visit vent board and mention above companies as much as you like - T3 is doing well on google - 3 needs a bit of a boost tho! Eh MrsE? :D

Meanwhile - not sure what brush or type/size etc, to apply the healing concealer from elemental beauty with. I am making a pigs ar5e of it when try to put it on followed by the foundation. Although confess that the foundation is covering pretty well - considering state of my face

I think you are looking for a primer for your skin? A silicone type makeup that fills the deep lines? I know plenty of the big names do one, what Im thinking is that with your sensitivity it may just be a product too much for now. Keep on with the regime you have for a while longer before adding anything else.

Concealer - I use tow brushes, the bare escentuals one and the lily lolo one. I like the BE one for putting on the concealer over lager areas and the LL one for the smaller veins and broken vessels that show through the foundation - esp under the nose.

Once again its technique. Dont know if mines right but its one that works for me.With the BE brush I dip into the foundation or concealer - just a tiny amount - and as usualy work it into the brush a bit then buff onto skin before foundation. With the LL brush, dip the tip in, work the minerals into into the brush and then dap on,working the mineral into the foundation do not to look like I have dabs all over my face :)

If you are really struggling then perhaps mix a bit with your moisturiser?

I jhave heard about mineral makeup and am interested in it. Apparently it not only looks great, lasts ages, and has a SPF and also is better for your skin.
    Has anyone used it?
    Any tips?
    xx

I use the L'oreal one BUT mixed half an half with talcum powder - for shine and for colour (I'm a bit pasty!).
    Cheaper that way too ;)
I have oily, allergic-to-anything skin and it's fine with this.

Ordered bare escentuals but tried once and it turned me orange and shiny

Mixing with talc rather defeats the object of minerals somewhat.

If you want to use talc on your skin then using a normal foundation and face powder will do. Minerals are ideal for those of us who find talc clogs our pores causing breakouts, settles in our lines making then look worse and just generally makes us itch.

And the L'Oreal "mineral" make up is already mostly talc.........

But my EB was settling in my lines........ but have applied it, yet again (smug) better today and it didn't settle so much!

Suki - what's a 'tow' brush? :o My whole face, pretty much, needs concealer - due to extent of breakout, veins etc. God I'm so attractive at the moment :D BUT - a whole lot better than I was a couple of weeks back - thanks to all you lot on here

The support on here and other forums in bl**dy g**d! :D

I've tried Maybelline, and Avon, liked them both but Avon more.

Has anyone tried these, and the imported ones from Ebay etc - and are they any better?

I think the Mineral make up is the best invention ever - my skin looks better than ever and its so easy to use!
