I after reading this thread decided to give lily lolo a go due to the samples and it being in the uk- and i am a total convert! i agree its a bit of a powdered finish but after a while looks great! Youtube has a lot of videos on it of people applying mineral make-up and some advise to spray the brush once you have dabbed it in powder with a vitamin spray or a refresher to make the application a bit more creamy and to really create the photo finish! oooo also can anyone recommend a good kabuki brush i am currently improvising at the moment with my samples.

I got my brush from Elemental Beauty and I love it - and their products.

My skin has been great, except last couple of days - but have had some stress and it is trying to flare up again.

Have you got any links re the spray? Am hoping that it is not too much fa*t ar5sing around tho - limited time in the mornings getting ready for work etc.!

Here's a link that was first provided by Angel81 in the 'Fight back against overpriced cosmetics' thread: www.crownbrush.co.uk they do many ranges of brushes, but she recommended the Studio selection - some are just over £1. They also do a range of mineral brushes including the refillable kind like those used in the Susan Posnick mineral range for about £4.50. I've bought from them and the quality is excellent.

Me too ;) . I needed to restock as my Bare Escentuals kit was fast running out. I bit the bullet and went for one of the LilyLolo kits at £44:eek: but I'm over the moon with it:T and I know it will last maybe a couple of years - you really don't need that much of the stuff. Plus purchasing the kit saved me £6 on buying the individual items: foundation; finishing powder; concealer; bronzer and blusher, all arrived in a lovely little box tied with a ribbon.

I had a long hard think before spending this amount and applied all the Money Saving rules, plus I get bad attacks of cranial shingles and this stuff makes me look a little less like The Elephant Man:rotfl: without causing other skin problems.

See my previous post about brushes - www.crownbrush.co.uk do a baby Kabuki and all sorts of other mineral brushes.

This is probably the best link of someone applying minerals wet as most of the other posts are american but in this one she is using lily lolo so something a bit closer to home! i only wish the resolution was better so i could see it up close and take a real good look at the finish! i have yet to experiment with using it this way as im waiting on the postman but if anyone has any luck please post. Im guessing it would be a clever idea to spray it with some kind of fixer spray but the only one i have found so far is mac which is muchas dinero

Going to go and check out the site now for the brushes - thanks for the advice everyone! x

I've just got to say, what a great company!

I'm hoping to go on hols in a month and wondered what colour to go for to blend it all in, as in if I get a tan! I emailed, got a lovely email back from Nicola and I went with her recommendation and advice, she said if I was not happy with the colour she would send out samples to help me get the colour right. She also sent me a sample of the soft focus foundation for me to try. As you will know, if you have read any of my previous postings - I have had a terrible time with my skin!!

I must say, that although (thru stress aaargh) it is trying to break out, it is very settled, the EB healing foundation has proved to be my life saver!! Well it feels like that!

I did find a comfrey balm rich in Allantion that I am putting on at night, but that is quite recent - my skin had been alot better before that. EB use Allantoin in their foundation and concealer. I think this is why it has been so good for me.

Its nice to post something for a change that doesn't start with 'help' :D

    Hi Jeannie

    How are you this evening?

That elemental beauty is nice, I must get some for my hol too.

I loved the matt one for this country, but the radiance would be lovely for a tan.
I'm talking about the mineral finishing powders, not the mineral foundations (I didn't like them).

I got a highlighter, that nice too.

Edited to say, I did try the middle of the road one, is that the soft focus, but I prefered the other two. I would by the other two. But try the samples they are so cheap, then you can be sure.

It does suit my skin so well. Liquid foundation is not good for me.

I'm having a mare in my life at the mo.

    Nothing is going right :o

I mixed just a little of the cinnamon with my other foundation this morning and accidentally got it just right. I looked healthier.......... and not at all too dark. I guess that during the summer I will use more and more of the cinnamon shade.

So impressed with Elemental Beauty. Not tried the free sample of the soft focus one yet, just the healing one. I've had a lot of stress lately and although my ezcema is going a bit nuts in places, my face has not flared up at all, it has tried too - but I apply the comfrey (rich in Allantoin) at night - greasy but skin smooth in the morning) and liz earle moisturiser in the morning and then the mineral make up. It is really working for me.
