I first bought Lily Lolo in December after reading about it on here in an attempt to clear up my skin and it was absolutely wonderful.
However, when summer finally arrived and it got a bit warmer my face would itch like mad if my face would sweat even the tiniest bit. Made me want to claw my face off!!
So stupidly I went back to liquid foundation and now my skins terrible again. Just ordered a few samples from Elemental Beauty to see whether thats any better itch wise:)

    Hi,

I just got back from a fortnight in Crete, where I took my new Lily Lolo kit. I had worried that it might run off in the heat but I'm pleased to say it reacted very well.

I used Boots No7 Anti-Ageing, Anti-Dark Spot Facial Sun Protection on my face and neck (where I have pretty bad scarring) first and left it for a good long time to soak in. Then I applied the foundation, bronzer, finishing powder etc. and it was there till the end of the day! It didn't look caked - it didn't even look as if I was wearing make-up, I just looked healthy!

Normally after a holiday abroad my scars stand out more because of course the normal skin around them tans and they don't:o - this time my skin looks pretty even and I'm going to keep up the same regime over here.

I haven't got time today to read all this thread (but I will later) but I wanted to chime in and say that I have the Bare Escentuals Get Started Kit and it is wonderful. I've taken some before and after pictures of myself and the improvement is worth every penny!

And that Kabuki brush - wow! It feels sooooo nice on my skin!

Also meant to say that I use the oil cleansing method - have done for months and it's great - better than using Clinique or Clarins products which i used to do.

I had the itching with Lily lolo and sheer cover - but am fine with the elemental beauty. I am using the healing foundation, Nicola has sent me a sample of the soft focus, which I haven't tried yet.

I have nightmares with my skin, but have to say, since switching to EB and using Liz Earle moisturiser - plus some comfrey rich in Allantoin, it has stabilised really well.

Lots of tips and help on Sheer Cover thread - Miss Marple Allantoin thread.

I was really happy with Elemental beauty foundation but as another poster said once the warmer weather came I started to itch like mad on my face when i started sweating  and all after weeks of trying different samples, soft focus and healing, and shades Id finally got my shade right and the application technique and was just ready to order the full size when the itching started  just my luck! So for the summer Im sticking with Clarins tinted moisturiser I find it suits me for day time use with just a little bronzer over then maybe try the MMU again in the winter. Just to mention Ive also tried colours of djoba (was very impressed with that) and in fact ordered the starter kit and the same thing happened again the" dreaded itching" when I started to sweat!

ok i haven't read this whole thread so sorry if i'm repeating someone else!

i use a pressed mineral foundation by NYC cosmetics (buy from superdrug) and it's perfect for my skin - i have very oily skin and it covers well but it's also really light. i do think they're best for oily skin types, i can imagine powder will irritate your skin if it's normal or dry. the brush they supply with it is pants so you need a nice big blusher brush, and buff it into your skin rather than sweeping the powder across your face. works a treat :)

the issue i have with powder foundation is you have to buy a shade darker in summer if you tan to keep it looking natural... bit of a pain

also sleek (another brand at superdrug) does an AMAZING palette of mineral eyeshadows, perfect for summer as it's all shades of brown, gold and pink. they're really light and subtle so you can build up the colours or leave them natural. i think it was about £4, they do other palettes in non mineral shades too, they're pretty much all i wear as they last really well and the colours are fab! definately worth checking out if they sell them near you :)

I'm off to Cyprus next week - so will let you know if I get any itching! I got a darker shade that I can use when tanned, I've already mixed a little of it with my normal shade to give me a healthy glow.

I personally avoid the High street minerals as they are not pure minerals. And my skin can be a right pain.... :o
