Mineral makeup - any good?

I've tried Maybelline, and Avon, liked them both but Avon more.
Has anyone tried these, and the imported ones from Ebay etc - and are they any better?
I think the Mineral make up is the best invention ever - my skin looks better than ever and its so easy to use!
You'll need to go thru the thread and perhaps the Sheer Cover thread too - its a few pages back, to learn all about it. There is some great advice.
I'm just a 'beginner' to the make up and do know that there is a difference between some of the various mineral make ups and that some of the High St ones are not pure mineral. I'm sure someone more knowledgable will butt in here!
Well, I hope they do!Genie

Suki - what's a 'tow' brush? My whole face, pretty much, needs concealer - due to extent of breakout, veins etc. God I'm so attractive at the moment
BUT - a whole lot better than I was a couple of weeks back - thanks to all you lot on here
The support on here and other forums in bl**dy g**d!
Sorry hun, misspell - tow == TWO)
If you need to conceal the whole face, try adding a bit of concealer to the foundation and using your normal kabbuki brush - or just use the concealer with the kabbuki where you need the extra help0 -

I did use some of the concealer this morning - with the kabuki brush then some foundation. The EB goes so far... I'm having problems judging it just right - don't want to waste any..
I've done a light covering today but it has settled in some of my tram lines. I've got quite a lot to do today, but intend to search for the 'stuff' that stops it going in the lines or covering them... wish i could rememberGenie

After reading the recommendation's about Elemental Beauty MMU I sent for some soft focus foundation samples - kitten honey and sunshine- and the dewy finishing powder sadly none were my ideal shade ( all were too light sunshine wasnt too bad but still a tad light ) so I emailed them back to see if they could recommend a shade similar to "sunshine" only darker and the very kind lady mailed me straight back and is now sending me out a further 3 samples and recommended that i try mixing the shades to get a custom blend which will be right for me. How about that for service :T
I have tried the Lily Lolo foundations and although i found they were OK'ish I still wasnt knocked out with the results. How do you get that "airbrushed " look"Ive got a baby kabuki brush to apply foundation and finishing powder and i buff for ages but I never manage to get that perfect look that its supposed to be Any tips ladies?

TBH I dont think you do
Unless of course you have the most perfect of skins before hand and then have any pictures airbrushed
Although I do find Bare escentuals mineral veil does make a bit of difference.I think EB do a finishing powder as well. The other thing to remember is the minerals do take a while to react to your skin. I know ehen I fist walk out the door I can look a bit "powdered" but 10 mins later I have a lovely (for me) finish
For me I just go for a nice even coverage, one thats not caking, slipping off my face in an hour, turning orange or bringing me out in itches - the airbrush finish is just never going to happen with my skin texture0 -
Aw, don't ask me for any tips - unless you want the crusty stilton look or the dried pumpkin!
Seriously - give it time - practise - read thro this thread and the Sheer Cover thread as well. Some great folk out there who know all the answers - bless them.
You'll only get the air brushed look if you have your photo taken and it gets 'air brushed'. In other words, the mineral make up is the best - but only as good as your skin is. (and it is probably a million times better than mine!!)
I've had the skin from hell for a few months now - and the mineral make up is so not aggravating - it helps it. I had to try a few before I found what suited me.
If you read the threads you will learn alot. High street brands tend not to be pure mineral. but you will learn all that by reading thru!Genie

Just want to let you know you don't have to sign the subscription with Sheer Cover
After they give you the spiel about the 90 days thing you just say, can I say no and only order as a one off - they will say yes
I am still waiting for mine to arrive but they will defo do it as a one time only purchase if you insist - you can also buy the individual pots and again ask for it as a one time only purchase
Also I spent ages looking for a kabuki brush and finally found one from crown brushes - apparently (according to the american reviews i read) they are as good as MAC brushes but alot cheaper and very well known in the states
https://www.crownbrush.co.uk i think? And I went for the Italian |Badger as that's the one they get most positive feedback about £8.99? The only downside is that there is a minimum spend of £15 so its better to partner up with someone if you only want the kabuki
Just cannot wait for the sheer cover to arrive to try!
Though I am defo going to look at the other recs from here0 -
good light coverage for older skins looks youthful and stays in place. the eye shadow etc and blushers look natural too.my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0
