Thank you to all of you!!!!
Today i had a phone call asking me to confirm my name and address!! I did not do this but when the person asked "Is this ..................." I unfortunately replied "yes". I then told her i had only told her that is who i was i wanted to know who she was and what she was calling about!! Silly i know, but i was caught off guard. Then i arrived home and have now received a letter From "Graham White Solicitors" stating that the amount if not settled will go up to £207 with warrant issue fees!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
If they ring again, there is a standard phrase to legally tell them to **** off. One of the team will post it.
To get to the "warrant issue" stage, they would have to take you to court, win the case and then you’d have to refuse to pay. After 28 days a CCJ would be issued. If you still didn’t pay, then a warrant would be issued and bailiffs would be appointed.
To slightly misquote Blackadder, there is one tiny flaw in the PPC's plan. It's b*ll*cks.
There have been two recent court cases, VCS Parking Control vs. Ronald Ibbotson, S!!!!horpe, 2012 and VCS Parking Control vs. HM Revenue & Customs, Upper Tax Tribunal, 2012. In both cases, the judges ruled that only the car park owner can take drivers to court. The Upper Tax Tribunal is a court of record, equivalent to the High Court, and therefore its judgement sets a legal precedent. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
They can't actually get a warrant (and hence incur warrant issue fees) until they win in court and you still refuse to pay up within 28 days of the judgement.
They don't actually mention this in their letter though. One reason is that you will believe they can charge you this now, and it might scare you into paying if you think you are going to be asked for all this money.
Another reason is that they won't actually take you to court, because they know full well their case would be laughed out within 5 minutes.
Keep ignoring, Graham White (or Roxburghes pretending to be Graham White, to be technically correct) are a well known part of the scam.
The next time they call, say this to them - "The debt is denied, and under Office of Fair Trading guidelines you must now refer the matter back to your client. Any further contact from you will be considered to be harassmsent and further action may be taken against you under the Protection From Harassment Act 1997."
Then end the call. However, if you've got a bit of bottle and they claim to be from Graham White's, then ask to speak to a solicitor. One of two things will happen, 1. They'll refuse (it is Roxburghe's after all, and no solicitors work for them), or 2. They'll put you through to someone - get their name, tell them you'll check their status with the SRA and then hang up.
Just for a laugh, like.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
I came home on 11th July to find out I'd received a parking charge notice through the post from Excel Parking, Cavendish Retail Park, Keighley, West Yorkshire. It stated that on the 30th June my vehicle had breached the car park terms and conditions for parking for 18 minutes without purchasing a ticket and now owe them £40 to be paid within 14 days. It showed CCTV images of my vehicle entering and leaving the Car Park. I don't even have a recollection of parking there. What should I do now?0

It's just the next letter on our picture list, for you to play snap with.
See post #44 and look at the letter chains thread if you haven't done so yet. The forum thread list is only one click away and the thread you want is the third one down, as I mentioned before.
And re the phone call, make the next one the last one by following ManxRed's spiel.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It's just a scam, ignore it as long as your vehicle is not a company/ hire or leased car. This is not some sort of authority, it's not even a real parking ticket.

So, is this a case of mistaken identity with the registration number (cars are often registered in groups by dealers, so similar cars can have similar numbers), or is this a "phishing" attempt, in the hope that the victim will just pay up?The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Hi all, another letter from Graham White arrived yesterday entitled " FINAL WARNING", still for the same amount of £142.00!!!!!!!!!!!!0

Correction another letter came from Roxburghe pretending to be Graham White SolicitorsThe advice is still the same just ignore them there is no panic they have never been to court in their existence over fake parking tickets.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
