Have any of you "mates" actually bought from this company
The answer to that should be obvious to anyone of even the most limited intelligence.
I and others have clearly pointed out that Mansion require in their Terms and Conditions that:
"You agree that jurisdiction over and venue in any legal proceeding directly or indirectly arising out of or relating to this site (including but not limited to the purchase of MANSION products) shall be in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California."
And hence I would not consider buying anything from them.
Was there really any point in asking the question?0 -
"you "mates"" What kind of grammar is that, tut tut.
Seeing as no one has managed to get a TV from them, except you (cough cough), hardly paranoia or conspiracy.
Go back and look what has been posted. A company who claim to manufacture the TV's, yet can't post an actual picture of them. Very few people can get hold of them, make promises of delivery and them retract those promises.
Even there website if full of discrepancies. As everyone says it should setting of alarm bells, left right and centre.
Then you register after the mansion rep comments and account were removed. So you do the sums.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
I totally agree with you that this looks very suspicious. I am not a lawyer. However, I do know that terms and conditions have to be legally binding and for them to be so certain parameters have to be met. For example, terms and conditions printed on the back of invoices. I have an invoice that has no terms and conditions printed on them or has been explained to me. I have not signed anything apart from the delivery, nor have I agreed to any terms and conditions. As far as I know, they could state that any legal proceedings must be held on Mars but surely they would have to be represented there too? It could also (maybe) backfire on them too. What's to stop someone ordering 20 TV's with a dodgy credit card and saying "See you in California".
Maybe there is someone on this forum with knowledge of corporate law that can advise? As far as I'm aware, no T & C's on invoices can be ignored.
I think you guys ought to "get off my back" trying to prove that I'm some kind of stooge because I'm new on this forum. All I know is that I'm sitting in front of a TV that I'm totally happy with at this moment in time (apart from having to look at Gordon Ramsey). I'm calling Mansion tomorrow about the HDCP issue and I'll bring up the T & C's on their site and see what they have to say.0 -

For crying out loud, i hope your all having fun slagging each other off but it is getting a bit dreary and monotonous now. I live in South Wales and i am currently tracking my order from Mansion with Parcelforce and should by all accounts be the second person on here to receive anything from them tomorrow and if it is crap, i will tell you honestly but if by some miracle it is good then i will be honest about that as well. I posted on here hoping to hear from people who were tits like me and ordered from Mansion and what experiences they had with these cowboys but most of the posts have been about getting at KJEG for whatever reason or belief you have about him! Give the guy the benefit of the doubt and if my TV turns up tomorrow then you will know that he has nowt to do with Mansion and was just stating what he believed about them. Just for the record, even if a TV turns up tomorrow, Mansion are a badly setup, badly organised company who i wouldn't buy a penny chew from in the future and seriously need someone to shake them up to put things right or they will simply disappear like a lot of businesses in the UK.0

I really wouldn't trust someone who can't spell or use correct grammar!
Why not you 'bought' a telly of someone who can't ...
"extend your standard 1 year warranty to 3 years! Covering all Parts and labour, but excluding accidiental damage. This Mansion warranty covers all TV sizes from 26" - 32"."
and you would think thats the last thing you want on a promotional web site - bad spelling/proof reading"Thanks to its two NICAM stereo 10W speakers..."
Edit: ok - see it also has an analogue tuner, so they might be referring to that, but since analogue is about to be switched off - it may still not really be valid selling point ?
Reserving judgement until the delivered TV count is > 10 -
Mmmmm...I too am rapidly becoming weary of the (seemingly) deep-rooted paranoia on this site. Although it is "water off a duck's back" it does become tiresome!
Maybe I ought to leave all of you wanna-be do-gooders to get on with stroking your own egos.
I really have no axe to grind and it really doesn't bother me in the slightest if Mansion survive or not. I have "been there and done that" but I really do think the wanna-be do-gooders on here are doing more harm than good and I cringe to think about the damage that has been done to UK business because of the (quite frankly) petty excuses some people come up with on here to crucify start-up businesses creating jobs that wouldn't have previously existed. Easy to hide behind anonymity without any accountability! Shame on you!0 -

I understand what you are saying, but I don't think delivery count should be the only factor.
To me it looks as though the website is set up so that the people behind it can drop it and walk away without leaving much of a trail that people could follow.
Even if they start to deliver a few cheap sets now, will they still be in existence in 3 or 6 months time when the first one goes wrong?
I don't know the answer to that, but the signs certainly don't look good to me.0 -
On a lighter note,I personally think Mansion TV is the result of Lord Sugar asking his apprentice candidates to set up a TV import company and unfortunately this is what we got!0

that is where you are wrong KJEG, T&C do not have to be printed on the invoice, nor does it require you to sign anything. If that was the case, all online retailers would be up the creek without a paddle.
By agreeing to buy from online retailers, you are agreeing to the T&C and enter into a contract with them. The part where you enter into the contract is a bit murky.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0
