All their TV's except the 50" are showing as out of stock... I guess they're waiting for another container load from China to get the CE approval like last time?

Interesting thread. Although I confess there’s one of two posters whose personal (and completely off topic) war had my eyes glazing over in the end. Honestly, not interested in the personal battles and, frankly, it’s not doing anyone’s credibility any good at all and it detracts from what otherwise would be valuable information within this thread. I wonder who will be the bigger person and give it up?
And just because it seems like I might possibly be a newbie and that appears to be some kind of MSE crime (guilty until proven yourself with multiple posts, perhaps?) I’ll state I am not a newbie to MSE; I’ve been reading for years and getting valuable advice through what I have read. I joined a few months ago because I needed specific advice on a parking issue). However I think I need to state my interest in this thread comes from trying to find information about the latest state of play for this company. My nephew purchase one a while ago (and yes, actually got it) and now his sister is looking to replace her TV. She was impressed with his one but heard rumours they were out of business already and I said I’d check for her.
Anyway, as I say my nephew purchased one of these TVs some months ago; I have actually seen it... yes, he’s one of those rare customers who actually got his TV!
It was not without a good deal of hassle though; he waited ages for it to be delivered and after several weeks of to’ing and fro’ing on the phone and in emails and eventually threatening to cancel the order. They gave up in the end and after weeks of silence and non response was on the verge of putting in a fraud claim on the credit card when they got a dispatch email.
The TV itself is pretty nice though; works well, good picture and reasonable features (for a bedroom TV anyway). All in all, from what I have seen, the product is good value for money.
So decent product massively let down by the company trading it. If you can put up with all the hassle and bull of being mucked around and maybe (or maybe not) actually getting your TV in the end then that’s your choice. If you can’t, I’d suggest steer clear and pay a little more and buy from a more reputable retailer.
My guess is that it’s one of those companies that doesn’t actually hold stock and just offers goods for sale it doesn’t actually have yet. When they have enough customer orders to place an order with the manufacturer, then they do so. If you’re lucky that means you only get to wait 5 weeks for your TV instead of giving up entirely. Companies like this usually fold pretty quickly. This kind of trading on false promises is unscrupulous at best and, probably illegal at worst!
Personally, I wouldn't touch them but it's not me thinking of buying one."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
It doesn't help that they were advertising most items as available for immediete delivery and then people finding out their TV was stuck on a crate waiting for CE approval or someother crap like that.
I agree that they most likely place an order with the Chinese manufacturer once they've taken the orders and money.
It's too risky and a poor way to do business. If you really want a cheap Chinese TV that is cheap look at Kogan who at least say they take your order then get the factory to make them and the price goes up nearer delivery time so they hope to get orders in early.
Personally I'd just buy a TV from a decent retailer!

I believe the 32" 'Mansion' tv is the same as this one from Ebuyer:
Furrion 32" HD Ready LCD TV.
At £209.99 it's a pretty good buy. After several months with my Mansion equivalent I'm very happy with it, though I've not yet used the HDMI sockets.
I'd say the one negative is that the built-in tuner isn't HD.

Hi
Interesting and amusing thread (gosh, how did you keep that going over almost 600 emails?).
I stumbled over it as I wanted to buy a spa from Red Saunas Ltd and thought it might be good to get some back ground info on this company.
Red Saunas Ltd seems to follow the same business model as Mansion Tvs and there seems to be an obvious link between the two companies (if Mansion TVs ever was a company).
They are most likely buying in bulk from China and do not keep any stock to keep their expenses to a minimum. As their margin is quite low they must rely on high ordering numbers.
Well, I am not going to buy anything from them. I might pay more if ordered somewhere else but at least I will get it in time (hopefully). Most other suppliers requesting a deposit only rather than the full sum upfront.0
