Well, after all the promises, no TV turned up towards the end of last week. Told them i was reporting them to the Online Fraud Intelligence Bureau and to refund my money immediately. Have now received an email saying my TV has been dispatched with Parcelforce Worldwide and will be delivered to me tomorrow between 9.00 and 5.30. On the Mansion website, my order is still showing as being processed! So, is it yet more flannel from this company or will it actually turn up! I know which way i'm betting but lets wait and see!0

Epic thread, I don't know who to thank
I especially enjoyed the bit about sueing whoever used quotes to alter what the other person said.martinlewis wrote:I have thousands of pounds in credit card debt and I don't believe in saving money.
uh-oh... I'm in trouble0 -
Ok...my observations so far.
The TV is well packaged as it is shown on the video on YouTube. Mine being a 32" has no carrying handle and slightly different packaging arrangement on the inside but all perfectly adequate to protect the product.
The base is 8mm thick solid glass with a chamfered edge, black finish on the underside and a protective plastic film on the top. You have to remove the pillar from the base by 3 screws to completely remove the film. The underside of the base has a 100 x 100mm mild steel plate to take the load of the weight of the TV from the glass.
The pillar is made from machined clear perspex and is also protected with a plastic film. One screw supports the mount on the TV to the pillar and I would advise to be careful that you don't put the screw in cross threaded as you are putting a mild steel screw into threaded perspex. Not really an issue as the TV isn't particularly heavy.
The black piano gloss fascia is also protected with plastic film and everything looks crisp and new without any scratches. The Mansion logo looks like stick on letters that could probably be easily removed if you preferred no logo. I may have a go at this later. The bottom of the fascia has a clear perspex strip running along it with a blue "floating" LED standby light near the left hand end. The main on off switch is slightly right of center and is indicated by a silk-screened symbol.
The back is standard ABS and inputs and outputs are clearly labeled. There are 3 HDMI inputs, one on the left hand side and two underneath. There is no SCART socket on the rear but there is a 25 way D type connector for a SCART adapter cable (supplied) with various phono connectors for RGB, audio etc. I presume they've omitted a SCART socket and replaced it with the D type to keep the thin profile of the TV.
My initial thoughts on the build quality is that it is very good with no ill-fitting panels. The remote is cheap looking but well laid out, no batteries are included ( 2 x AAA) so I had to pinch some from another remote. For people with home theaters this isn't an issue as they probably use a separate remote anyway.
When you switch the TV on it shows a Mansion splash screen initially which I would prefer not to have and you may be able to switch this off but I haven't got that far yet. It then auto tunes for your stations and the on screen menus are clear and easily followed.
I've connected a HDMI signal to the TV from my Tivo but (and this is a big "but") so far the TV isn't accepting the signal as the Tivo states that the TV may not be HDCP compliant. It may well be that there's a menu option that I've missed so far but there's no mention in the manual that the TV is HDCP compliant. This will be a major issue for Sky and Virgin users. If it isn't HDCP compliant there may be a software upgrade via the USB on the TV that will solve the problem. I would be very surprised if it isn't HDCP compliant being a brand new TV. I will have to call Mansion about this to find out more. It may well be my Tivo is at fault but I'll update when I find out more.
I presume the built-in Freeview tuner isn't Freeview HD but again I haven't got that far yet. So far I would give it 7 out of 10, that may well go up to 8 or 9 for the price once I get a full HD signal through the TV.
For now I've connected the Tivo via SCART and the included adapter cable so the picture is only at 720 and not full HD. However, the picture is clear and sharp without any sign of dead pixels that you can get on even the most expensive TV's. I'll try and run some test signals through the TV when I've sorted the HDCP issue.0 -
I requested a tracking number from them and now know for a fact that something is on the way to me after checking it. After reading KJEG'S review, it sounds promising and whilst he has a couple of issues with the TV, i only require it for a bedroom so i don't need all the bells and whistles and as long as i can get a good picture in the end then i will be happy with it.0

I have just read through all the comments on this page and glad that KJEG has a tele!. I have waited since March the 3rd for this tv to arrive and with no joy and a million different excuses andddd a million promises of it being delievered. Finally cancelled last week. I should get my money back tomorrow, we will see. If not working at a top law firm, I am sure I can get a helping hand with pursuing legal action against this company if need be.
I have now brought a sharp 32inch tv for £199. def worth the extra 30 quid and came the next day. So for me being tight and not wanting to spend an extra 30 quid , I have ended up paying for 2 teles! ah dear!
Def would avoid using this company, even if they are new and having teething problems, that's not the consumers fault and they shouldn't have bit off more than they could chew.
Good luck to any future customers and I hope everyone waiting for a tele gets it0 -

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.0 -
Slightly worried now, I ordered a TV from them a week ago.
Should I cancel and try and get my money back?.:Lovin' Life:.0 -
Wow what a tedious long winded thread about Mansion. After looking at there site, I am sorry but it does look extremely dodgy, same picture of TV used over and over, also what others have not spotted is the mansion logo also has been super imposed.
Almost sounds this company could be drop shipping.
After reading what KJEG has posted in defence and his review of the supposed TV, he most defiantly sound's like a company rep working for mansion.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
I've even posted my tracking number!
Check it for yourself, fool!
They're in Durham, I'm in South London!0
