Mansion 23" led tv

Just to add another couple of observations: with the exception of the 40", all the pictures of the other TV sizes are of the same TV (with a different scene photoshopped in). And a question - if this really is a startup company, how came have they got a sale on showing tremendous savings? Has anybody got evidence of them selling these TVs at the previous price? Just another way to sucker people in.
Good point! 19", 23", 32" or 46" TV, the base image is identical, and the 50" just seems to have been scaled.
And yes there is consumer law about how long you have to have been selling at the "Previous Price" when advertising a "Sale Item", though I don't know enough about their historical pricing to say for sure whether they complied or not.0 -
They have to have had a product at a higher price for 28 consequtive days within the last 6 months to be able to show a sale price, if I recall.
To be honest the likes of DFS have had continuous sales since about 1967

Speculation after speculation! Photoshopped logos again proves nothing...maybe their branding wasn't finished at that time...who knows?
One post was speculating about whether or not they had permission for using images on the TV's from movies! Most retailers use photoshopped images on TV's...just makes the TV look better for the web rather than a blank black screen.
Another stated that the back of the TV was made of cheap Chinese plastic!!! Honestly!!! Plastic is plastic, there's thick plastic and thin plastic and I suspect he was referring to the latter. How can he tell? Personally, I'll be sitting looking at the front of the TV and not the back!
As far as pricing is concerned, most retailers show sale prices for most of the year especially companies selling kitchens and the like. You would never buy their kitchens at the full price as it would be extortionately high...same applies for Mansion. When Homebase have to display the full price for 28 days for their kitchens their advertising stops completely apart from a few tiny posters showing the full price just so as they comply with the law.0 -
With bricks and mortar chains (B & Q, Homebase, DFS etc) they only have to display a product in one of their stores for 28 days in 6 months to then be able to show a sale price.... so 99 Homebase stores can show a low price of say £100 and the 100th store shows a high price of say £300 then after 28 days all stores can then show a massive saving of £200, now only £100..... which all the stores, except 1, were selling at anyway.
The devils!
How any Web only retailers gets around this I'm not sure, I'd imagine they can't flout the legislation so easily.

You're missing the point about the photoshopped image on the TV. The same picture of a television is being used for nearly every model. How do you know what you're buying if they can't even provide a photograph of the product they're selling?Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -

I think you're missing the point...what makes you think that every different size is going to look different...what's the point of photographing every different size if they (almost) all look the same?

Most of you really are clutching at straws and looking for problems that don't exist!0

Do you know the owners personally? If not why are you so defensive, to the point of threatening legal action when you a just a customer?0
-
No, I don't know the owners personally but I do know what it's like to start a business and I really don't think some comments made on this forum have been fair or reasonable. Creating speculations and accusations that are without merit that seem to be spreading like wildfire over the net is not only damaging to a company that may well be legitimate but also doesn't help customers like me that have bought the product.
I have no doubt that a lot of people on this forum would be much more careful about their statements if they weren't anonymous and could be held accountable.
Lots of accusations have been PROVEN to be false or can indeed be rationally explained. If I have been ripped off I will be first in the queue to close them down.
My interest in this will (hopefully) be over tomorrow. I am hoping that I don't have a box of fresh air sitting in a depot in Mitcham and I will post as I see it for my own eyes and my opinion as to the quality from someone whom has owned an electronics manufacturing company for over 20 years. Obviously, whether or not members on this forum choose to believe my observations is entirely their prerogative, as is mine to comment on some of the (quite frankly) ludicrous suggestions that have been made on this forum.0 -

Your are tediously repeating the same thing over and over again, but repeating your statement that our concerns are "ludicrous" doesn't make it true.
There are at least five major flaws on the company's website, and these can be established as FACT, not allegation.
Just the fact that their Terms and Conditions quote Californian law should alone be considered a serious issue for an allegedly UK based company, and the fact that they do not publish their Company Registration number, which means they are operating in breach of UK consumer law.
I have seen before the type of tactic that you are employing here - the repeated posting of positive material in an effort to push the genuine concerns down the thread and out of sight - the theory being that many newcomers will only view the last few posts or the last page of a thread.
Your behaviour undermines your credibility as a genuine customer, and makes you look more like a company stooge, repeatedly trying to obscure the genuine concerns that have been raised here.0
