Espresso, I have DL the inSSIDer prog but haven't a clue how to use it...can u give me an idiot proof guide pls?
When run it simply display the wireless activity in your locality, giving the channel number, and signal strength for each signal received. You will see your own signal (your routers SSID) and be able to see if any other routers on on the same channel that could be causing interference. Wireless channels do overlap, so you ideally need a channel that is not near to any other signals e.g. don't switch from Ch 6 to Ch 7. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Just to eliminate one thing - in post 21, what was the max value you set the server time-out to?
As the previous poster said don't use channel 6 - try 11, or 13 if it will allow it.0 -
No, mine is the only one!
4 on channel 11
8 on channel 1
only me on channel 6
Are there any other devices that could be interfering? Video sender, cordless phone, baby monitor etc. etc. - you have now proved that it is a wireless problem that it preventing the sending of big e-mails i.e. with attachments. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

You can find information on how to change the SMTP server on the Plusnet website for your E-mail client:

Might be worth doing this anyway even though it probably won't solve your problem. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0
