Thanks for this - it really eliminates your PC - so that leaves us with the router or your ISP - give a try to resetting your router to factory settings. If that doesn't work then beat-up yr ISP or (tongue in cheek - change them )

PS Thanks for your note to Expresso, I found his comments really rather distasteful - maybe an Aston Villa fan (they lost!)

I am going to lie down in a darkened room and will try the router reset when I get back.
    (actually going for dinner...lol)

    Thanks

Hi Guys, I am not ignoring the suggestions in last couple of posts but whilst having dinner I had another idea and am absolutely kicking myself for not thinking to try it sooner!!!

It hasn't solved my problem but might help someone more knowledgeable than I to pinpoint it with better accuracy ;)

I disconnected from my home wifi and tethered to my SGS2. The emails WITH attachments went out from OE no problem!

Is this ammo I can use with my ISP who said it was nothing to do with them...or do u still suggest resetting the router? Or could that pinpoint something else I need to look at, or, or, or....

I have to pop out but will be back in about about 30mins or so to hear what u think :)

    Thanks

So do e-mails with attachments send OK when you use an Ethernet cable rather than WiFi? The problem could still be local.

It proves that the fault is either your router, ISP or the SMTP server you are using.

Have you tried a different SMTP server yet?

Was your sgs2 linked to the net via g3 or wifi? (I know very little about mobile technolgy I'm afraid).

As you are connected via wifi, try sending with the laptoip conneceted via ethernet cable (you may have already done that).

There is no harm in resetting your router - as I said earlier there are settings in there that can filter yr internet traffic, if it has become corrupted a reset might help; certainly would assist in any subsequent conversations with yr ISP

So you have wireless interference that is causing your connection to drop (Error 0x800CCC0F returned from the mail server) while sending long e-mails e.g. with attachments.

Try downloading and running inSSIDer here to check local wireless activity and change your wireless channel to a clear one.

You can change the SMTP server by going to Account Settings, clicking on the Email account and change the SMTP server to a different one:

Some SMTP servers require authentication - try BT, Pipex or Tiscali.
