Ah yes, the dreaded 0x800CCC0F!
Usually, firewall or anti-virus related. Can you temporarily disable your anti-virus and firewall. Don't click on any unknown attachments or E-mail links while they are off!
See whether you are able to send Email with attachements.

Apologies Myser, I should have said in my original post that that was one of the first things I tried as it came up on one of my many google searches of the error code.0 -
What is the size of these attachments that won't send? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

The fact that you get the same message in Outlook is interesting..
Try a couple of things:
1. In the advanced tab for thr gmail account increase the server time-out and see if different settings makes any difference.
2.Temporarily , create a couple of new folders, drag and drop the contents of your main inbox and sent items, so that yr folders are empty. Compact these two main folders so that hopefully they are pristine? Then try sending an attachment?
1. Just tried that...no joy
2. After I backed up my email and deleted everything but 50 and it didn't work...I then went back and deleted everything apart from the folders, created a new email with attachment and sent...nada0 -

From all the tests you have done I still suspect a corrupt OE folder. Have you tried either of the above?
Another thing you could try - and this does work - first make sure OE is closed. then rename your sent itemd dbx folder, just change the dbx to old. OE on opening will create a new sent items folder. Try sending again, You can reverse this change if you wish simply by deleting the new sent items folder and naming the old one back. However if it fixes you can drag/drop your old sent items into the new folder (but first renaming again to the file extension is also dbx - eg something like old sent items.dbx etc.0 -

Did you compact? As you know they don't go until that has been done - suspect you did , no harm is asking?0
