If you haven't done your oven for a while it might need more than one go.
The best cleaning agent of all is elbow grease(I tend to have to use quite a lot of that
)
There's a whole range of threads on oven cleaning in the mega index that I've just copied that might help you out...

Hi ragstoriches,
There's an earlier thread with lots of ideas that may help too so I've added your post to it to keep the suggestions together.

After years of not cleaning my oven - hate & detest the job with a vengence - I have finally managed to get it spotlessly clean (I really was ashamed of it) (never ever ever cleaned the shelves properly) I have really tried everything but the best ever which actually works, AND cleans the shelves without much effort is OVEN PRIDE. cost about £2-50/£3 ish. I actually enjoyed the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and it even cleaned the sort of sticky burnt on gluey stuff that you can't shift.
I love starclens, but even that didn't touch it. (starclens is the stronger brother of star drops)
I bought a pack of Oven Pride
I even got the gas hob stands clean with it ( by covering them in Oven Pride and putting them in the big plastic bag that comes with the kit.0 -
Having problems finding any other companies in my area.0

My oven is filthy, grimy and disgusting
. The time has come it must be tackled and i promise to wipe out the inside at least once a week from now on to avoid this situation again:A. I plan to put the metal shelves in the dishwasher and i can take the glass out of the door to clean with a white vinegar solution. I would like suggestions for the most effective way to clean the inside. I am 6 months pregnant so need to avoid and nasty chemicals. All suggestions gratefully received!!

Self cleaning parts - Turn the oven up full for about 30 minutes.
Elbow grease and a brillo and washing up liquid on non self cleaning parts.
Can you get other half to scrub any bits that need a bit of hard work.
There are some great cleaning product out there but as you say you don't want to be using chemicals.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0
