My problem is the bottom of my oven is sparkly clean, it's the top that's manky. What I would love to do is turn the cooker upside down to soak it in Oven Mate. No cleaning stuff stays on the top for long enought to clean it. Any ideas?
Having similar problem here, any one any ideas ?DC.

I stopped using my oven. Haven`t used it for 2 months and it is bliss not having to clean it. I just use it to store cake tins and things so I have also free`ed up a cupboard. Remoska and bm do all the baking :j :j
oven pride was the best cleaner and had staying power. I think I would just apply and re-apply but make sure you use the gloves0 -
I had the Oven man come out to professionally clean my oven once and was absolutely amazed to find that the top of my oven actually slid out, so that it could be cleaned separately. I'd had that oven for 7 years, and there was no sign that this happened. It might be worth having a close look and a bit of a tug at the top of your oven to see whether that's the case with yours too. If so, you can just clean it like any other part of the oven. If not (though not very OS) maybe get the Oven guy out once to clean it thoroughly for you, then keep on top of it yourself from then on in? The normal sprays will work, even on the top of the oven, provided it hasn't got too manky!0

Just read the Remoska thread, I am so tempted, but then I'm tempted by a Slow Cooker and George Foreman too. I shall behave and keep my cash and clean the oven.DC.

Hello
Our oven is looking pretty minging, the bottom of the inside and the glass door. Have tried oven cleaner and it just seems to soak into what is stuck on and makes the oven and kitchen stink every time we heat it up.
I have heard about caustic soda on here before, but my concern is I am pregnant and my partner is severely asthmatic, even with face masks we're paranoid about the fumes..
Any ideas? please help!!Mummy to two girls, 4 & 1, been at home for four years, struggling to contend with the terrifying thought of returning to work.0 -
I'm afraid I cheated ......when my old oven got really bad I called out one of those oven cleaning companies. Cost £35 but was well worth it.....ended up with an oven that looked like newWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

I used these people-

mine cost £50 3 years ago but it was fntastic job, although they do use chemicls it's all done outside and in their van! I have a range cooker I had inherited from my husbands first marriage, and although it looked ok on principle I said I would use it only if it was valeted! I look back now and laugh that I could afford to be so wasteful. Mind you looking at mine today I would happily pay it again if I had the money-in fact I would like my whole house bottomed!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0
