  • The wonders of MSE!!!
So far I've recycled a non working phone - and got paid for it. Listed 2 items on ebay.. dirt cheap as they would have only gone to the tip otherwise. FC i'll get a few pennies for them.
Starting on the kiddy clothes next. Thank you all for the fantastic inspiration - and the hint about the postage calc!

Turbo Lister is making me want to throw my laptop across the room!
I unchecked the gallery plus and picture pack options, then when I went to upload my items it came up with a fee of 10p per item. I went into the item to edit it and they were checked again. Once again I unchecked it thinking I had made a mistake and clicked to upload again and it still came up as 10p. Went back into edit listing and these upgrade boxes were checked again!!!
What am I donig wrong? I just want a bog standard listing with no extras added on.

This would explain why my listing costs were so high the last time I used it. perhaps it's a glitch? I'll have a dig through it and see what's going on and let you know ;)

For some reason Turbo lister will just tick all the silly boxes sometimes, it seems quite random, I know I've listed lots & it hasn't done it & then it will.
I don't know if it's after you've listed in the category where the extra photos & upgrades are free & it stays ticked.
One of the items that sold on Sunday, I weighed with packaging & box & it came in just under 2kg.
Some plonker used the box & now the only ones I have bring it to just over 2kg, so my £4.75 charged on p&p is going to cost me £7.62 & half a roll of bubble wrap. Some weeks would be better spent in bed.
Luckily with postage it went for £12 so there's a bit of money left in it.

I'm sure I read somewhere that on No fee listing weekends it stipulates it excludes Turbo lister.

  • Hi all,

Sorry have been AWOL. Hello to all new people *waves*

Well I had a pap week for ebay last week but it was all relistings so I suppose that follows really. But I spent some time on saturday packaging and weighing stuff and listed them sat night/sunday to start sunday night. I think I've got 5 items with bids on so far and plenty with watchers so hopefully I'll have some pp funds on monday!

I found turbolister a pain in the posterior and so I forked out for GarageSale which is a mac based listing programme. It's awesome and brilliant money spent. But, you don't need to use a programme to list stuff. Just do it on ebay, schedule a time in then when you're ready, start the auction early. So if you want the listing to start on sunday night, schedule it for monday then on sunday night, just go through and click to start auctions now. It'll say it costs to schedule the item but as you're going to get there before the scheduler kicks in, you'll not incur a fee.

Ah man, no fee weekend over easter? I'm away at my folks' for the weekend so I'll not be around to weigh stuff. gah!!!

    Has anyone heard from Keys?

She hasn't been online since 22nd March. Not that she isn't allowed a holiday, but we all know MSE is addictive :rotfl:
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
