Take advantage of this weekends free listing folks. Probably by the time the next one comes around the Royal Mail price increases will have come in, and boy will they eat into your profit.
Small packets 0g-750g will be £2.20 2nd class & £2.70 1st class which currently replaces 3 price bands0 -
Funny you pick out small packets, that's actually one of the few changes that doesn't make too much difference, I think it's one of the only reductions too, 501-750g is actually 41p less for second class. 251-500g has very little change, some smaller items will shoot up, but some could actually be better off on packets. I know I've just adjusted one item we sell so that it now weighs just under 750g instead of just under 1kg, it's already selling pretty well and should show a decent profit when the post is cheaper!Small packets 0g-750g will be £2.20 2nd class & £2.70 1st class which currently replaces 3 price bands
As for free listing days they seem to be less of a pain these days, for a while we struggled to sell during and at the end of them, now I've noticed a rise in sales at the end of them, seems like the private sellers like to spend their new found wealth!.0 -
I particularly mentioned small packets as I send a lot of low weight items. Can send for £1.33 or £1.72 at the moment - but will rise to minimum £2.20. Try justifying that to a buyer when his item weighs 90g. (2nd class packets weighing less than 100g will see almost a 70% price increase) - it will only put people off.
I agree some heavier items will be a little cheaper but then there's minimum standard parcel rate: now £4.41, will rise to £5.30 with no option of buying extra top up insurance over £48. (overall 20% price increase)0 -
Unless it's a decent value item, with packets under 100g you're pretty screwed. Depending on weights for parcels there are better options around, I rarely use standard parcels as I can get a better courier rate, insured, tracked and next day service for the same amount or less.I particularly mentioned small packets as I send a lot of low weight items. There's likely to be no going back with these changes so either work a way of selling the items you have within the postal prices or move on. Obviously I don't know what you sell, but within these price changes with your 90g item you can send 8 in one packet for the same cost as sending one, which could open up multiple buy or wholesale options for selling..0 -
Get in! I was hoping for another free listing weekend. :j0
